Talking Hi, new and need some support

Hello everyone
I came across this site accidentally but I'm glad I did. I've never joined any other forums so this is my first. I guess I'm looking for some support and/or encouragement from others to lose weight.

My ultimate goal is to lose 50lbs in total but I don't want to do any crash diets and would want to keep the weight off. I had lost 15lbs because of my physically demanding job and was able to keep it off until I went through an episode of eating dessert every night for 2 months. Of course I gained all the weight back and now feel discouraged. I make plans to eat healthier and want to exercise but find myself getting discouraged constantly. But i'm tired of being overweight and feeling self conscious and I really want to make a change for real this time, I'm tired of always saying it and never changing.

Anyway, I look forward to reading the different stories and stuff thats posted on here. I haven't taken an intense look, so I'll be doing that now.

Dessertlover, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join!

Hello dessert lover, I'm a carb lover lol. Welcome to the site! I've joined a few days ago myself and have found this website extremely useful especially if I have something on my mind that I don't necessarily want to talk to my friends or family about because not all of the understand. Hopefully you'll find this website helpful as well

THank you all for the support already I tried starting my healthier "diet" this past Monday and lets just say it was healthy for half of the day then I gave up since I was starving. I feel like I've lost my motivation.

But thank you guys. I'll check out the other threads to post in the appropriate sections.
