Default Any suggestions?

Hello, everyone! I've just recently started exercising (in my basement while watching Total Body Sculpt w/ Gilad) and am in the process of gradually changing my diet. I'm getting married in October and have an almost 1 yr old that I want to be able to run around w/ and not feel exhausted right after. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any videos on youtube that work well (I'm beyond "on a budget", so a gym isn't really reasonable for me) or any diet tricks (I'm cutting back my soda intake b/c I'm a HUGE soda drinker) that'll help me gradually get to where I want to be. I don't want to shock my body by completely changing my diet and am not looking forward at all to getting caffeine w/drawl headaches. I just really need some help, some push, and some suggestions. Thanks!

Welcome!

Cutting back on soda is a wonderful start. Keep cutting sugar, swap your starches out for vegetables ... and hang out here at 3FC. We're here for you and you'll find lots of good tips and tricks as you shape your individual plan.

Assuming you've not yet done these things....

swap whole milk for 2% then 1% then skim

Land O Lakes makes a very tasty 2% cheese--its the only lowfat hard cheese (aside from all part skim mozzarella) that I can vouch for

Polanar allfruit spreads instead of jellies/jams

Fage or Chobani Greek 0% yogurt for sour cream - you get protein and less calories than the sour cream

Philly 1/3 reduced fat cream cheese

Kashi cereals have many healthier versions of main stream options - 7 grain puffs instead of rice krispies - sun something or other tastes like corn pops

whole wheat or grain breads instead of wonder white
grain rolls instead of round/kaiser rolls

drink plenty of water

if you want to consume artificial sweeteners, there is a whole different world of options open to you

if you cook, check out www.skinnytaste.com for some super recipes - new twists on old favorites - particularly the no-bake cheesecake is super

baked chip snacks rather than fried

Lovemymen, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join!
