Default Hi everyone :)

Hi all

My name is Jess, I'm 26 years old and I work as a home care nurse for a client who also happens to be a good friend. Oh! And I'm Australian. ^_^

So! About my weight. I've been overweight since I started high school at age 12. This is certainly not the worst it's ever been, but I'm currently sitting at 135kg (299lb). I really, really hate writing that down. In the interest of total honesty, I suck at diets, possibly because I really hate being told what I can and can't eat. This time I'm counting calories, and I've found it way easier to stick to thus far.

My current goal is to get down to 100kg (220lb). Still heavier than I want to be eventually, but I find it easier to think in smaller amounts.

3FC seems like the perfect place to help keep me on track, and I'm really happy to be here.

Smile Introducing myself...

Hi Jess,
I am new to this forum and site.Found it as some of the members here are doing the south beach diet, which is what I have been doing.Very succesful if I stick to it.I am way overweight and have at least 100 lbs to lose. I have tried many diets over the years, and initially lose weight, but find afterwards that I regain not only what I have lost, but my lost pounds bring their pals with them.So after years of "yo-yo-ing", I am determined to stick this one out. I have to, because of my health.Got diagnosed a while back with a rare bone marrow disease, which though there is no cure, at present, isn't life threatening. It limits my ability to do much exercise, and has some really annoying symptoms, such as a runny nose! Delightful! Runs so much thinking of sending it to the Olympics.
married with four grown up children , two dogs , two cats, and that's about it!

Jess, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join! Be sure to check out the 20-somethings, Calorie Counters and the Aussie Chicks.
