Default In it to Win it !!

Hallo girls!! I'm Bianca from Surrey, UK and I weigh in at 120 kg (19 stone/266 pounds). My length has been a great excuse for a long time as people most often mistaken me for being voluptuous, but as months went by these compliments also came to an end !!

Reasons for wanting to shift the weight is not all about looks but because I want to have a healthy relationship with food & get my fitness level/health back. You hide from the world & start lying to yourself when you're not happy with your body. I look at my face in the mirror & kind of ignore the rest of me!! I also want to start my own bussiness some day but realise that my self esteem is at an all time low which means I resort to watching tv than going out & socialising.

My turn around came when I went shopping & couldn't find trousers to fit & the only pair I could find I have to safety pin as the buttons don't reach!! Also my husband taking BEFORE pics of me last night was so embarrasing !! My goal is to shift 40 kg's (6.5 stone) in 1 year. Easy does it & I won't be expecting any change over night or depend on how others see my weight loss. It's a bonus but also a recipe for relapse when you depend on others to be your scale. I have one very long belt which I've poked 12 holes through; As I love wearing jeans & trousers, the belt will be my weight loss scale along with a once a month weigh-in at Boots or the doctors!!

Wish me Luck & Goodluck to all of you x

Hi Bianca!

Welcome to the forum! I'm also new, I just started 3 days ago

You have a lot of tools here, the biggest difficulty is that there is so much, that it's actually difficult to get off the site and getting to the exercise, hehehe.

See you around

Hey Nevhaeh! I hope to find alot of new friends on here! I'm a bit scared to get started (i start 1 October) but looking forward to the challenge!! I've actually lost huge amounts of weight 3 times before; 2 stone twice & 3.5 stone only 3 years ago!! I can kick myself for it, but I've realised it was also the contraceptive which I've been using. I've left those pills for good now!

what diet are you using?

For the weight tracker, there is a sticky thread about it... Search for "ticker" or "tickers". However, you have to be registered for 20 days and have 20 posts before you have the option to add a signature!

Right now I'm not on any specific diet, I'm counting calories and I'm not eating the bad carbs: rice, potatoes, bread, pasta... But I do eat natural oatmeal for breakfast a few times and I eat fruit, so I am getting my "better" carbs! I've always found specific diets difficult to follow... I had amazing results on SouthBeach diet a few years back, but that diet was geared for the USA, I've had a hard time finding a lot of the stuff recommended and maybe I just wasn't ready for it on a student's budget and lifestyle. I am exercising with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and combining it with other exercises on a daily basis! Let's see what results I'll manage! I'm hoping for 5kgs by November 1st.

I keep track of everything on MyFitnessPal, I use it on my PC and smart phone, I update it several times a day.

Thanks for the insight & sharing your weight loss journey with me! I understand when you say it's difficult to follow a specific diet...they are so restricting as well. Sometimes it's all in the mind yet we keep on looking like we're searching for short cuts somewhere ! I'm only starting on saturday & looking forward to it so badly!

I'm actually South African & recently on a visit there I brought back a really cute little purple dress my sister gave me. It's the only item of clothing that doesn't fit me & it's exciting to know that I'm ready to get into that dress ! I've got a page on facebook 'MY BIG FAT 40 KG WEIGHT LOSS', which will help me keep track of every day & friends can leave notes of support. I want to share it not because, as the myth goes, to force myself not to dissapoint others but because living healthy is fun & I want to share my ups & downs. Feel free to look in every once in a while ! lol; (o;
