Hi Kristen!

And welcome to the forums. You will find SOOO much helpful information here, and people who are always willing to help out however they can! I too started with a goal of 80 lbs. I'm now just over the halfway point, and have been working at it since March. I think that as long as you stay with whatever program you are going to follow, and exercise regularly...you will start seeing the changes. And nothing motivates better than seeing yourself shrinking! Everyone has something different that works for them. Low fat/Low carb is what works for me, along with daily exercise. Let me know if you have any questions

Take a look at the forums about goals and mini-goals; they are plenty of success stories to be had. I really like mandalinn's story, and she's not a moderator here so if you see her post I believe she has a link to her success story in her signature.

My only tip so far is that you should be willing to try a lot of new things because it could take a while to find what substitutions and foods will work for you. Also, if you have a slip up and get off track and regain some weight (like I did), just be honest with yourself and get back on track.

Good luck and I hope you like it here!
