Default Hello, I am new to the forum

Hi there,
I recently found this community because I was looking for some information on calorie intake while nursing. I have been on a weight loss journey for some time. I had originally lost a bit over 50 pounds several years ago. Then I got married and had 3 children close together. I never really lost the weight after each baby was born. I hadn't realized how heavy I was getting. I started a weight blog in August of last year and still kept gaining. It was in December, when I had reached a weight that equaled my weight before giving birth 8 months before that I knew I had to do something. I was fortunate to find a couple of weight loss challenges to start the new year out with. I have since lost 41 pounds (since Dec 13). I have really been enjoying the accountability and the competition, it's what has kept me motivated.
I am glad to have found this community. I am hoping to find some support and be an encouragement to others.
I am nursing my 14 month old 2-3 times a day and am trying to eat healthy and get in exercise. My biggest problem is snacking and not knowing how many calories I should be eating.

Welcome! A lot of us had the problem of gaining weight after having children (myself included). There are lots of great people here to help and even a special forum for nursing mothers. You have done great on your own; this place will help you do the rest.

Good luck!

Welcome to 3FC =)

There's a Pregnancy - Nursing section under Dieting with Obstacles that you might want to check out.

Best of wishes on your journey!

Hello!
I am new kind of.....I joined years ago when the 3fatchicks was just getting started. But like most things I tend to get side tracked. But I am trying this again. I see the site has really changed and for the good. I like that its not a
gossip site with little to do with losing weight. I am here for motivation and support plus accountability. I like that there are lots of help here. I look forward in getting to know others aand being apart of something positive.
Good luck on your journeys.

I, too, enjoy that it's supportive and that the members try to give out knowledgeable and kind advice. You can really tell EVERYONE wants every member to succeed and to lose the weight and keep it off!

We all have the same goal... healthier! And we can all get there!

Hope to see you around the boards!

Welcome, I'm new too. Using myplate on livestrong.com is really helping me to be accountable for everything that I'm eating and it's really easy to use since it has a huge database of food and beverages. Good luck on your goals!
