Hi everyone! I've read through a few of the newbie posts, and like a lot of the other people here I am new to 3FC but definitely not new to dieting. In middle school, I always vowed to get skinny by high school. In high school, I vowed to lose the weight by the time I had my driver's license...then by the time I went to college...then by the time I graduated college.

Of course, none of that ever really happened. I would lose 20 pounds, decide to "reward" myself with food, and quickly end up completely derailed. I'm a senior in college now, and I graduate in about four weeks. It finally hit me the other day that I'm running out of "by the time I...." statements, and I realized that if this is ever going to happen I need to just take the plunge and start trying to lose weight NOW.

I can do this, right?

Yes you can do it! I'm fairly new as well and would like to reach my goal weight by the time I graduate college Spring 2012. It would be a wonderful accomplishment. I know exactly how you feel when it comes to saying you'll lose weight by this time, and then once that time comes, saying you'll lose it for another time. It's an ongoing process and something I think you can break the habit of! I used to tell myself that I'll get thin when I get older, but it never happened. Now I'm trying to do something about it and have told myself never to give up.

Keep going! You can do it!

Yes, you can! Good luck in your journey, GP! Sounds like you see where you've derailed in the past and that's a key! Stay positive and focused and check in often! What a great graduation present to give yourself - the journey of good health.
