Cool New and looking for encouragment please!

Good evening everyone,
I'm new to this thread, but not new to weight issues. To make a long story short, last May I went to my Primary doctor for a complete check-up on all my blood work. I was told I had high cholestrol and beginning stage of diabetic. I was afraid of this since I was told when I was 27 and pregnant with my son that I was gestational. I was approaching 39 and heavier than I had ever been before.

I immediately started watching what I was eating and walking. I managed to lose 34 pounds and slacked off. This makes the 2nd time within 10 years I've lost over 30 pounds and get comfortable with myself and let it all go by the weigh side.

I'm starting my journey again today and am looking for encouragement. I've gained about 14 pounds back so I'm still at a 20 pound loss, but I need to get back on track if I ever want to hit my goal. As of now, I'm needing to lose 44 more pounds.

I don't do any specific diets, I just watch what I eat. Portion control is my biggest thing and I try moving A LOT more by walking at least 30 minutes several times a week.

My hardest obstical is my son plays tournament baseball and I LOVE BALLPARK FOOD!! Sorry, but it's the truth!!! Please help me stay away from the concession stand and get myself back on track.

Thanks a bunch!

Welcome LSUgirl! We've all been there, losing and gaining.

I would strongly recommend reading the maintainers forum. If you want to lose the weight and keep it off you will find a wealth of information there that will help you on your journey.

Good luck to you!

Hey,
Bring healthy snacks with you to the ballpark. Maybe a huge ziplock of air popped corn? That will keep you busy and not feel the need to hit the concession.

Congrats on the weight loss you have acheived. i think it would be a GREAT idea to bring food with you! I am the same way at work. They have a cafeteria and a vending machine and I would snack all day on unhealthy foods and now I try to bring an arrangement of snacks so that I know i'm making healthier decisions..

Good luck and Cant wait to hear more about you!

Thanks Ya'll. I've thought about bringing healthier things to the parks that don't check your bags for food and drinks. LOL! I'll just have to fight the urge with ballpark foods again. I've done it before and I can do it again.

Thanks Friendly for letting me know about the maintainers forum. I surely need to go through there with a fine tooth comb.
