New here, but definitely not to weight loss!
Hi Everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself . . . I'm Debbie. This looks like a great site and like so many others I'm looking for support.
I joined Weight Watchers in May 2010 and have lost 60 pounds so far. I've still got about 26 pounds to go, but I'm going to make it! The first 50 pounds or so were actually fairly easy, but the closer I get to my goal, the more it seems that I'm struggling.
I've fought my weight for most of my adult life, up and down and up and down, but in May I was at my highest weight of nearly 227 pounds. I was 56 years old and on medicines for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and reflux disease. Honestly though, the thing that really hit me was when I went to my ophthalmologist and he told me that since I was diabetic I would have to have my eyes dilated every single year! Why that was what triggered things for me, I don't know, but thankfully it did. I'm off ALL MEDS now and feel so much better!
I've checked out this site for quite awhile and love the support that people are willing to give. It helps to see others who have the same struggles, but either have or are overcoming them.
