Hi All!
I am a new 3FC member from Canada who has about 100+ pounds to lose.
I am 6'1'' with a large build and have always been a big girl but managed to creep up to 280 from 250 within one year! This last's year weight gain has slowly crept on even thought I have been trying to diet this entire last year. I've gone for blood tests and ruled out everything medical to explain the weight gain so I am chocking it up to low metabolism and needing to take better care of myself!
My background weight-wise is that I have lost and gained since I was 23, my lowest being 172 then, and at my heaviest I was 292 just before giving birth to my son eight years ago. I had a brain tumour removed two years ago in 2008, after being diagnosed with it in 2006, and as a result I was put on steroids. I haven't been on surgery since my surgery and although steroids do put on some weight, I would have assumed afterbeing off of them for two years, that would have been out of my system by now.
Being at 280 and not pregnant (tested for that too!), I am really serious about trying to take this off in a sensible, slow method and keep it off through lifestyle changes and healthy living.
