Joining a site like this is sadly well overdue for me. In the last year I feel as though I have absolutely ballooned.
I'd love to blame loads of different things but the truth is I've just been lazy. I used to go to the gym a lot but got bored with it. Since school I've always been a bit on the chunky side and struggled to lose much weight.
The only success I've had was a few years ago when I was 164lbs and managed to get myself down to 139lbs. Stupidly I seemed to get stuck on 139 when my overall target was 136 and no matter what I did I couldn't seem to get those last 3lbs off. I suppose you've all guessed that my weight just crept and crept back up again until today.
Yesterday I weighed 187lbs which is the heaviest I've ever been. To combat this I'm going to try and make better eating choices (while understanding that no one is perfect). I'm also hoping to start cycling the 4 or so miles to my work to get a bit of exercise.
I'd be happy enough to be back at 140lbs and in my size 12 trousers instead of the 18's I wear now. However I think I need to tackle it as a series of mini goals. I'm going to make my goals to lose 7lbs a time I think as hopefully there won't be too much time between goals.
In my free time I enjoy going to watch football and caring for my many pets. I work part time at my local library but also run a business doing talks for children (sometimes adults too) on animals. I usually bring a selection of live animals round for the kids to handle (if appropriate). In this way I can talk to them about endangered animals, the environment and responsible pet ownership.
