Post Two out of three ain't bad

I've had that Meatloaf song stuck in my head for a week This is the third time I'm losing the weight, and time I plan to make it keep it off!

Hi, I'm B. I am a 28 year old married full-time Section 8 housing caseworker and part-time Ivy league graduate student (writing my thesis ). I have 3 crazy cats. No kids as of yet.

Let me lay out my weight history. I started getting bigger at age 8, and by the time I graduated high school I was over 200 lbs (I'm 5'5"). I went to college for about 6 weeks and withdrew due to complications from depression. I took a few month to get my head straight and worked full-time. After a few more months, I decided to try again. At that time I was 235 lbs. By the end of my freshman year, I was down to 170 pounds. This was when I met my future husband. I kept the weight off for about 2 years. As a senior, I gained it all back plus and graduated weighing about 265 pounds

After graduating, I served as a local VISTA member in a rural anti-poverty program for a year. The second year, I was promoted to the VISTA Leader position. By the end of the first year, I was starting to lose weight again. By the end of the second year, I was down to 165 pounds. I was on 3FC back at this time, and I loved it. It was a huge help and a great outlet.

Then I started graduate school. I was working full-time and carrying a course load only 1 credit below full-time student status. I kept the weight off for 2 years. As I began to work on (and freak outabout ) my thesis, the weight came back - plus another 35 pounds. I had no time for anything it seemed - no time to work out or eat healthy. I stopped coming to 3FC.

I was up to 290 pounds - and terrified that I couldn't stop it this time. Luckily when I switched jobs, a curious thing happened. I lost 20 pounds in about 3 months without even trying. I used to eat lunch with my (also heavy) mother in restaurants every work day. Alone at the new job, I started eating a 6" subway sandwich every day instead. When I realized that I could wear pants again that I had recently grown out of - I knew I had a fighting chance.

I started this time at 290 pounds. It's been a year since I started the new job. I have lost 64 pounds currently, and I'm down to 226 pounds. In another 11 pounds, I will be back down to my wedding weight from 2 years ago. One year to gain it (or gain quickly and level off), one year to lose.

I have 46 more pounds to lose ... and I'm looking to build a support network so I don't fall on my butt again. Feel free to kick it when necessary, just so long as it keeps my standing and fighting

Thanks for sharing your story.
and congratulations on your success so far!
I'm just getting going myself, but I would love to support you if I can.
You're at a very exciting place... 46 pounds to go seems so close (although, I know it's still a journey).
You've done so much already, You Can do it!
