Hi Cristina,

Hang in there! I have arrived at the point in my life that those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter. If friends or loved ones can't be supportive, that says so much about them. Try to surround yourself with positive, supportive people who really care about you. Good luck......you can do it!!

Keep your chin up Cristina! We are all here for you.

I was right where you were earlier in the year. I hated my body and was very depressed. With the support of my family, I started simply trying to move more and make small changes in my eating. This past month I have lost 13 pounds! All I have done is try to eat healthy, cut my portion size, and leave the couch a bit more. Notice I said TRY to eat healthy. I have good days and bad days. The trick is to give yourself permission to have those bad days sometimes and get right back to your good days.

You can do it! If specific workouts are too hard for you, just try walking. The workouts touted today are often way too hard for someone not already in good shape. It sounds silly, but if you can find any old tapes of Richard Simmons (ignore the hair and glittery outfits), he's often really good at low-impact workouts that won't kill you.

We will all be here for you to support you and help you through. Good for you for taking the first step. You rock girl!

I agree! Richard Simmons is pretty good at keeping things low-impact and his high-energy is really motivating.

Just hang in there girl. I recently stepped on a scale and realized that I was at the heaviest I'd ever been in my life, but that there were a lot of reasons why I wasn't eating healthy and the lack of support from family and friends is really a bummer. But at the end of the day, you need to do it for you. Or at least I do anyway.

I haven't been on here long, but I can already tell you the support on here can be amazingly overwhelming. I've only been posting myself for a few days, but I've been watching from the sidelines for a while and there are great people on here. So welcome to an amazing group! *hugs*

Welcome Cristina, I totally agree with the Ladies here. If you don't get the support you need from family and friends then you have definitely come to the right place. 3FC is so welcoming. It feels good to know that someone has your back if you fall, without knocking you down again. I don't like to do work outs mainly because most of the things you have to do are so hard, but walking is easy for me. I actually walked a mile and 3/4 today for the first time today that last lap was hard but I did it. I started my journey on 6/1 and have actually not done too bad. I still tend to snack when I shouldn't but I am working on it. Well best of luck to you and all of us in our journeys.

Hi Cristina.

OK...the first thing you say is that your chest hurts?
Have you gotten that checked out?

I think that should be your first priority. Then, if you get a clean bill of health, and you probably will, is the time to start a moderate exercise program.
For most overweight people (like me), walking, if at all possible, is the first best choice because all you need are some good shoes and someplace safe to walk.

Come back and let us know how you're doing.

MissNibs.

Hi Cristina
Don't let nobody to tell you You Can't ... because YOU CAN!!!... everything is possible, maybe hard... but possible. Motivate yourself, go for a walk today 1/2 mile, tomorrow a mile... eat less and always thinking I'M DOING THIS FOR ME NOT FOR SOMEBODY ELSE...and you'll se results in a short time.
Good Luck!... When you are feeling down just come to 3FC we'll be here for you.
Bye :-)

That's how I felt and still feel at times. But I have learned through 3FC to set mini goals and get to them first, then the big number doesn't look so bad (I tell myself)

Lucysam77, we have the same numbers almost, not sure where I want to go once I reach 150. We can do this together if you want. I started on 6/1 on my new journey. I weighed in at 195.8. I use to be 210 don't know when the weight started coming off because I surely didn't do anything to make it go away so I chalked it up to JUST LIFE. I weighed in this morning at 189.8. My mini goal is 184 by 7/4. Then I'll set another goal.
