Default Hello - Newbie from Southern California

Hello,
I typically do not post on any introduction page and usually jump right in but because I randomly stumbled on this website, I felt I should.
My name is Kat and I'm 18 years old - I gained 100 lbs. due to anti - depressant medications and depression itself. When I finally reached 235, I decided to suck it up and loose the weight only to have a terrible accident January of 2009, resulting in a terrible knee and back injury.
I gained another 30 lbs. Fortunately, I am not diabetic but I know that if I want to be in less pain overall, I need to loose the weight. My insurance is rejecting every request for a nutritionist or P.T. and no doctor is willing to sign off on any exercise plan - so I've decided to suck up the pain and do something about it.
I've done it alone and it hasn't work (0 motivation) so I hope joining this community will help.
I wish everyone the best of luck on their journeys!

- Kat

Welcome Kat, I love these forums. I am not the most motivated person either, but reading the forums, and joining the ones that keep me accountable I believe have really helped. I like the idea that I am able to record my weight, food and calories and others are doing it too. And even though you all aren't here with me, the forums make me feel like you are. I just joined a forum challenge last night and I am hoping that it will give me a BIGGER push to reach my mini goal of 184. You have definitely come to the right place for all of the support and inspiration you'll need.

Best of luck to us all in our weight loss journeys
