Smile Hi - another newbie:)

Hi Everyone,

I recently gave birth to my second son 7 weeks ago and I have a lot of baby weight (and other weight) to get rid of. I thought by journaling and posting it might help me through it - I want to lose about 32 pounds and I am ready! so any advice/support is appreciated!!

Welcome Jilly23!

And Congratulations on your new little addition! I think you have come to the right place! 3FC is a great place to find support and encourage you to keep track of your weight loss. If you're interested in journaling, think about starting your own 3FC blog. I'm pretty new here too, but I agree that writing about dieting and keeping track of what you eat, etc, is a great way to start loosing weight. Browse the different support groups. I'm sure you will find one that will fit your life and weight loss style!

Welcome aboard jilly23! Yes, this place is an excellent support! I don't think I would have stuck it out this long. I highly recommend finding a plan you can work with and that you can stay on for life. For me, that has been:

calorie counting (I keep an online calorie log...there are many free ones so if you need help finding a good one, please ask).

eliminating diet sodas

working out 6 days a week

controlling my binge eating urges (this is the toughest part, but I'm doing great and have been binge free since last Halloween!)

eating almost the same thing daily. Variety (to me) is overrated and just makes me want to eat more...I eat delicious low calorie foods.

Coming to 3fc when I need support. I like the Chicks In Control part of this forum for those who have food addiction/binge eating issues.

Getting foods that are "triggers" for me out of the house and out of my life. It's not just chocolate and pizza...it's also some health foods that I can't control myself around.

Anyway, I hope you find what works for YOU. Everyone is different! You can do it!!!!

Hi jilly!
Conrats on the new little one, how exciting! - I'm working on baby fat too but it's from when I was a baby (really!) - the support you need is here to achieve your goal - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a must for motivation. There's also first hand advice on different plans to help choose what's right for you.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

Welcome to the forums, jilly23. So glad you joined. Congrats on the birth of your second son. This is a great community. You will find so much information, support, inspiration, and motivation. I have kept a daily journal since I started my new healthier lifestyle. I record everything. Food, water, supplements, exercise, moods, blood glucose levels, etc. It really helps to keep me on track and comes in handy when I see my dietitian and doctor.
