Default Hello from S. Florida

Hi
I have never joined a weight loss forum before, but I am now over 175lbs and I just seem to keep growing larger. I have tried some diets like Dr's weight loss and followed it strictly for 6 months only to lose a disappointed 7 lbs. Even they were stumped. I have had my thyroid checked and it is at a low normal but not so much that the Dr would give meds.
I am extremely frustrated!! And I'm not sure what this forum will do for me, but I'll have a look-see around.

Regards
Carol

Hi Carol! I just joined today myself. I love So. Fl. I spend time in the Jupiter and JAX/St. Augustine areas, and on the Gulf between St. Augustine and Sanibel. Gorgeous and the best winter weather anywhere. What a great place to get active! Good luck and welcome.

How does this forum work? Do you just post about how you feel? How do I find some recipes to make? I need practical help. I eat out a lot cause I hate to cook, but then I eat salads with cheese & meats (I need protein or I get weak)I know I have to stay away from the burgers & fries, pizza, breads & sugars, but when you go to bed with good intentions and wake up to follow the same routine , how do you change?? Also What is "my fit"?
Thanks
Carol

Let me see if I can help ...

Do you mean www.fitday.com ? It's an online calorie counting program.

I'm going to suggest that you try visiting a daily thread like this one
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/feat...-december.html
in Featherweights. We talk about almost everything. Food, exercise, how life is going. Some times we challenge each other ...

There's lots of food talk and recipes here
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/food...lous-finds-17/

You can look here
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/support-groups-122/
to see if you'd like to belong to a group.

And just keep reading! You can post anywhere you'd like! And keep asking questions. This is a big place but that also means there's many folks to help you.

Hi Carol!
Many here certainly understand your feelings of frustration and being overwhelmed -just take it a step at a time with small changes perhaps - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to get you through.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs. Just browse around, clicking on what looks interesting - that's how I started.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

Happy Holidays!

I can't believe it. I have been eating sweets non stop & I'm NOT a big sweet eater!! I think it's because for the New Year I really want to stop eating sweets.
Anyway I've been eating lots of poor quality foods for a while. Somehow Mexican, Burgers, Fries, Steaks, Pasta & garlic bread plus ,pizza & Subs sound sooo much better than Broccoli, carrots, spinach, salad, Chicken, chicken chicken, fish and more chicken & more veggies!! It is sooo tough to get out of bad habits!
I really like having a food plan so I can have something already made. I can't use those premade foods cause of all the preservatives!
I'll look around more . Thanks for the encouragement!
Regards
Carol
Happy New Year to everyone!!
