He my name is Cat.. and I live in Tennessee with my cats,a pooch and one skinny husband.
I have lost considerable amounts of weight going low carb and kept it off until this year. Then whammo, the holiday season kicked into high gear and our church has way too many dinners with rich and absolutely delicious food. So, I gained nearly 50 pounds back.
My quest is not to low carb again. well maybe less carb. but I cannot afford to join weight watchers and then drive 40 miles to a meeting... so I am searching the net for kindred spirits for support, recipes, advice, etc. And this looks like it might just be the right place. I am in a challenge at present at another board and doing well with it. (lose 5 lbs. by Valentines day, starting 1/14) I have dropped 2 lbs since 1/14, so I should be able to meet that challenge.
I began (like 5 kazillion others did) on Jan. 1. I incorporated a walking regimen in with a lower calorie diet. So, now I walk a minimum of 1½ miles nearly every day. And my food is taking on smaller portions, less red meat, more vegetables and fruits and grains. Very little bread, potatoes, rice, and no sugar. I drink a half gallon of water per day. I don't drink soda anyway, so that I don't need to worry about. I do need to watch sauces, and desserts however.
I started on Jan. 1 at 199.8 and today weighed in at 192.2.
So far so good..
I am looking forward to getting to know folks here...
