Hello everyone! I'm April mom of 2 from FL. I'm excited to be here.
I've always been a bit on the larger side. In fact so has my entire family. Were big/tall people and we love to eat. However I wanna put an end to this cycle. I was always the "fat kid" in school and I do not want the same to happen to my kids. For the past month I have been exercising and trying to eat right and so far I've lost 13 lbs. However this is just a cycle I'll do good for a while then I'll lose my motivation and gain some if not all of the weight back. Right now I see myself slowing down again. I'm ready to try something new and hoping to find some of the motivation I need here !

Hey April!

Sounds like you have a great start. The key, for me, was realizing that this isn't a "diet"...it's a lifestyle change, and that motivation was WAY less important than commitment. Motivation comes and goes. It waxes and wanes depending on what is going on in our lives. You CANNOT depend on motivation to get you through this journey. Really!

The ONLY thing, in my experience, that will get you through is commitment. If you decide...REALLY decide...to make a change in your diet and exercise for life, making good choices for good and maintaining your weight gets a lot easier. We have groups by age range, by eating plan, and all kinds of smaller miscellaneous clubs, so find a spot and settle in.
