Default hi! new here and just getting started

hi!

recently found this board and have read some of the messages and it seems like a supportive and informative place, so thought it might be a helpful part of the journey that's about to begin. trying to lose weight and get fit and healthy.

excited about the possibility of success but also concerned about not achieving health and fitness goals. challenges may include sugar addiction, getting into exercise again, and sometimes feeling down. but definitely ready to try.

glad to have found a place of support!

p.s. could anyone advise on how to include a ticker? went to tickery factory and created one and tried to copy and paste the code but in the preview of the post it does not show up. tia!

Welcome! you've found a great place!

In order to include items, such as tickers, you have to meet the minimum post requirements, which I think is 25 before you can cut and paste. In order to edit and maintain a signature, you also have to be an active member for at least 30 days and meet a certain minimum. Hope this helps!

. . . glad you found us . . .

The weight tickers are part of your signature area and you must be a member for 20 full days and have at least 20 posts before you can create a signature. Just hang in there and keep posting and the time will jsut whiz right on by.

thanks so much for all the warm welcomes! and for the help with the ticker info. and thanks for the compliment on the name--love surfing!

going to try to follow a lean protien, vegetables, low-fat dairy plan. lots of water, sparkling water, decaf coffee and tea. small meals every three to four hours. no late night eating or eating after like 7pm. exercise will be treadmill, weight lifting, pilates.

kind of in panic attack mode about succeeding. really nervous about messing it up, but trying visualize a positive outcome.

thanks again!

That sounds like a very healthy and do-able approach -- good for you! Lots of people have advised that it's less daunting to think of your "project" in 5 or 10 pound increments. It IS kind of panicky to think "omg i've got to lose all this weight!" but thinking "I will lose 5 pounds this month" is much more calm. Take it one step at a time. If there is occasionally a step in the wrong direction (and there probably will be, since we're all human!), then just get right back on track. You can do this!!

your plan sounds excellent and sensible. i like that you're pumping iron... muscle burns fat! good luck, you can do it.

thanks everyone! was away from the board for a few days, just checking back in now.

thanks for the continued words of welcome and especially thanks for the support and words of encouragement -- it means a lot and is very helpful!

just looking around a little at the different areas of the board, where do most people go after the introductions area thread to post for general weight loss and discussion? i'm assuming the "weight loss support" area thread, but just wanted to check and see if that was sort of the "hub" where people hang out.

well, cheers to us all and all our successes!
