Default uhm...Hi

Hi!
My name is Jenna and I'm 18 years old and really overweight and have been ever since I can remember. I'm starting college in August (commuting not going away) and I figure its a good opportunity for a fresh start. I really just wanna lose weight to get healthier not necessarily be a size 2, but then again I also want to be able to go out and shop without wondering whether or not the store has my size. I've been lurking around here for a couple days but hadn't joined cuz I guess that would mean admitting to the fact I have a weight problem which I hadn't for SO long. But I'm ready now.

I've started only a few days ago just by modifying what and the way I eat, not eating late at night anymore (my biggest problem) and exercising and I've already lost 2lbs! Yay me!

I have only a small question...Ever since I've started I've been getting really bad headaches...I've tried taking aspirin but it only seems to dull it...is this a bad sign?

Welcome to 3fc and congratulations on the 2lb loss!

As far as the headaches, have you cut back on your caffeine intake at all? Caffeine withdrawal headaches are the worst! It takes a week or two for them to go away, but they do go away eventually.

It's also possible, if you are drinking more water, that you are flushing toxins out of your system, thus causing headaches. This should go away too.

If they don't go away after a week or two, then I'd go to your doctor, just to be on the safe side. Don't quit due to headaches though! You can do this and the headaches will probably take care of themselves. Your body will adjust.

Congrats on those 2 lbs They are the start of a really amazing & rewarding journey

Along with what zenor said, it could be that you're not drinking enough water. (Dehydration is known to cause headaches.)

Make sure you have a look around and post where you're comfortable. You may enjoy the 20-something's. Even though you aren't quite 20, they're a friendly bunch, and you're close enough

Best of success!!!

Hi Jenna

Good luck with your goal of losing weight for college. You could try adding some mini-goals in too so that you can keep your motivation up.

Congrats of the 2lbs!

The others have said everything I would have done about the headaches. I get terrible withdrawal headaches, not just from the caffeine, but from cr4ppy food too!

Hey Jenna, I faced the similar situation a couple of years ago. I had been overweight my whole life and was moving from Ohio to Florida to go to college; I figured why not start anew? We're here for ya if you ever need anything, congrats on the 2 lbs! Keep going girl, you'll get there!!!

Hi Jenna, way to go on your weight loss so far! I lost weight when I was 17-18 years old and kept it off until I got pregnant and quit smoking ... I was 32. You can do it!!!!
