Talking Newbie and need support

Hello everyone!
I'm new to this and have never before tried it. I've done Atkins, before all my meds and it worked great. Then gained it all back plus more. Same with Herbalife. I even became a distributor! I want to be slim, but also healthy. This has been going on since 1985!

Anyone else see themselves differently until they see a picture? I sure do! I also have a problem with weight loss. If I start losing and someone notices, I give myself a reward and keep going to gain it back.

I decided I need help with this and I just don't want my family in on it. I don't know why, but I just don't. So, I'm here for help and support since this seems to be a great way to do it. I work with a lot of women that are trying to lose weight, have lost weight, etc. and if one does lose it and keep it off, some have a tendency to say stuff like, "oh, she's lost too much!" and "she looks sick!". I know I will have to encounter that, but can't wait to!

Glad you could join us! You'll find great support here. You might check out Diet Central, to see if there's a forum or thread there for an eating plan you'd like. The Exercise forum is also a great place to start, but jump in where ever you feel comfortable.

Thumbs up

Weight loss is a personal journey. Some choose to share it, but even if we share it, it remains 'our' journey. Here, you will find plenty of folks who will support your efforts and not judge. Welcome! and best of luck to you.

Welcome! I also don't tell my family that I am trying to lose weight. It is hard for me to tell certain family members what I am doing. I have an aunt that has been skinny all of her life. Her meals consist of things like 1 apple or 1 orange and she does not understand of how that does not fill every one up. We don't like to out to eat with her because if we order more than a bowl of fruit she makes rude comments of how she does not understand of how we can eat more than a bowl of fruit.

Hi, Welcome! We've all been standing where you are at one time or another. We all have problems with weight. We're all on different diets, but we can support what ever you decide to do. I am on a blend of WW, calorie counting, and eating healthy. I know, sounds crazy, but it's worked for me. I'm at goal now. I want to stay at goal and I know i can't do it alone. I get cockie and think I can start eating anything and everything again. I need a support group. I've found a wonderful bunch of ladies in the 50+ groups. I'm a member of the Golden Girls. We support each other and have fun too. I don't know how old you are, but come on over and check us out.
