I'm new to this-I've been trying to lose weight for awhile now. I lose-then gain even more then I had before! I'm hoping that support from all of you will help keep me motivated!

Do any of you know how I can get one of those weight loss tracker pictures that I am seeing at the bottom of posts?

Hi and welcome!

You're in good company here at 3FC. Lots of folks who are now permantently slim, used to yo-yo.

As for the ticker .... it's something you'll have to wait for. 30 days, 30 posts ... something like that. But that's OK because by then you'll have a loss to register.

In the mean time ... read lots and post! We're glad you're here.

Indiana,

This is a great site for finding support. Cruise the forums, find areas that fit with your eating plan, and exercise plan, etc, then introduce yourself there, or just jump into any thread that interests you. Folks here are really helpful and inspiring.

Don't worry about the losing/gaining thing. We've all had to make some "practice runs" before finding an eating and exercise plan we can live with. You'll find your way!

Welcome
If you are looking for long term success. Check out the book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. It is a book you can download from the internet. I have read many books but his book is mostly about good nutrition with some weight training and cardio advice. It is the last book you would ever need. But I will read more because I just crave information about improving my exercise and nutrition habits.
