Smile 2008 has GOT to be my year to lose that weight!

Hello Everyone:

My name is RubyJan and I live in London, England and need to lose about 40 pounds to get reasonably healthy. Right now I weigh 187, and I am only 5ft.2. I have done Atkins in the past, and lost about 30 pounds on that, but got worried about the high fat content, and gave it up, and gained back weight. I am thinking of doing weight watches in my neighborhood or OA or a combination of the two.
I do PIlates twice a week, an cardio three times but I have a bad bad sweet tooth, and because of medication I get very hungry... so its going to be a struggle but am hoping I can win with some help and by giving some support.

I am feeling pretty excited about getting going on a new plan -- but I haven't yet decided which will work for me. WW seems pretty safe and ives a lot of choice.

Hope to meet up with some of you on other threads on this site.

Hi again RubyJan. I came across a post of yours somewhere in the intro's this morning and posted links to our WW and OA forums. If you are having trouble just ask.

In the interim ... welcome! Make yourself at home!

Hi Rubyjan,

I'm 5'2" also and have more than you to lose. I'm so determined this year to get the weight off for good!

I've heard alot of good things about weight watchers. And there seem to be so many people doing it--that's very tempting, having alot of company. I really like their cookbooks.

I'm having luck with the Sonoma/Mediterranean diet--that is, when I follow it.

Hope to see you on the threads. Good luck to us all!
