Melting in PA!
My name is Julia. I am 34 and recently decided to give this weight loss thing a shot. I've been heavy since my early teens. I can't say I've tried and failed much because I haven't. I convinced myself I was happy with my size and living life to the fullest.
I doctors visit just over 6 months ago reported high blood pressure. I was told to quit smoking, loose 50 pounds and start taking medication. Unfortunately that just depressed me. I did nothing.
It wasn't until almost two weeks ago after returning from a fabulous business trip to Key West that I stumbled on to a picture one of our directors had taken of me. I was shocked, embarassed and down right mad. I never want to look like that again.
So, off I went on this journey. I do not have a plan yet. I quit all sugared drinks immediately (Dr. Pepper addict) and have been watching my sugar, fat and bad carb intake. So, I'm still looking for a "plan." And trying to move as much as possible.
Weighed in with 2 lbs lost for my first full week although i did not weigh myself at the beginning.
It's great to see such a positive community! I can't wait to get to know you all better :-)

The same thing happened to me. I saw a picture of myself, sideview, front, I said to myself enough is enough. I hope that you will get all the support I received so far.
