Default Hi! I'm in desperate need of help and encouragement.

So that is why I'm here. I'm a 22 year old college student. I'm not severely overweight or anything, I'm just to the point where I feel like I should be able to be a confident, attractive woman more than an insecure teenager. I should have left that behind long ago. I have a lot of skinny, beautiful friends and roommates, all of whom get the attention of guys, enjoy shopping, and can indulge on occasion in dessert without feeling guilty. I want all of those things!

So that is why I'm here...hopefully I will be able to get things going and change my life!

Welcome Teeny! You are doing the right thing, start young, before it gets difficult. The most important thing you can do is make the lifestyle changes now that will keep you healthy for the rest of your life. Develop a love of running---90% of the healthy weight adults (30+) I know run on a daily (or almost) basis. And they enjoy it.
So Welcome, and good luck!!

Teeny and momica,

Glad to see you both here! Yes, it's a great idea to get fit and trim while you're young! Check out all the diet and book reviews--see if anything appeals to you. Most successful losers find it helps to have a plan.

See ya on the threads!

Teeny, Hi!

I had to reply because your goals are so similar to mine. I'm 21 and hate the fact that ever since HS graduation, my friends all still eat the way we did in HS and don't gain a pound, but I have. My goal is to get back into my HS clothes.

I totally relate to how your not completely freaked by the weight, but just uncomfotable. Food is my downfall.

I hope that you are able to stick to your plans and I wish you the best of luck!

We're all in this together!

*Mickey*
