Hi Everyone!!!
I am SO happy I found this board!!!!! I was on Medifast for a month (well, only 2 weeks out of that month really), but found it to be very costly. I also believe that I can have great success on a balanced diet on my own, eating 6 small meals a day while tracking my calories. Because my diet does not particularly fit into any specific diet brand category, I had difficulty finding an appropriate board. And now I have! I love that this board has so many different forums to suit just about anyone's needs!
My goal is to lose a good amount of the weight by May 26, 2008 so that I can run in the local 10K. Two years ago I was running 6 miles a day, but quickly gained the weight due to depression, stress, and basically having shot my metabolism to **** after years of fasting, gaining, and yo-yo dieting. I want to be able to run and be active again. Heck, I would love to be able to simply walk around without huffing and puffing.
So, my diet plan consists of tracking and counting calories using Fitday, and eating mainly whole foods like low-fat yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese, tuna, chicken breast, green veggies, egg whites, oatmeal, whole-grain sprouted breads in moderation, and using Stevia and flavored Stevia to flavor and sweeten as needed. I plan on keeping my carbs fairly low, but my goal is not ketosis. I am one who needs some carbs to think clearly and function.
Happy to be here and I look forward to getting to know everyone!!
