I used to live in Watsonville and worked at Jenny Craig in Monterey.
I also worked at Jenny Craig in Salinas, my boss at the Salinas Centre lived in Soledad. This is a great site , you will get lots of suggestions and support here.I am familiar with flylady but haven't followed it.

I'm in Central California. I've been reading Body Clutter too. I get stuck on the routines. I self-sabotage as well as a DH who sabotages too. He's going back to work this week, so I think I may have a fighting chance, because I am taking over the cooking again (he was cooking when I was working and he wasn't). I strongly identify with the Brat Factor. (SHE website-- mentioned on flylady.net)
So, taking a deep breath, and getting out my exercise tapes and DVDs, and getting ready for a skinnier me. I know it will help that he isn't here, he teases me when I do exercise so I don't.
We're all in this together, hope I can encourage as well as being encouraged!!!

I love the flylady system-it makes so much sense to me and reading body clutter has me really thinking about why I want to lose..it is all about living longer & healthier with the people I love! Oh sure... firm breasts, a flat tummy and thin thighs would be NICE , but the reality is at 43 and 2 children it's gonna take more than wieght loss for that to happen. lol. It is about getting to a healthy wieght and being fit . I ordered the Volumetrics book and should get it soon from amazon ,these past few days I have added salad to dinner time as well as fresh fruit. Which we do not eat nearly enough of in our home.
What exercise tapes are you going to use? I am thinking I would like to start the day with stretches for flexibility, I am just so stiff in the joints. Yoga appeals to me right now. I just need to move!

When my kids were little we did Hooked on Aerobics, and at least that is moving. I got a pilates book and DVD, and I also have an exercise ball... my sister in law got me Sweatin' to the Oldies a long time ago... and I haven't done any of them regularly for many years. So I am going to get them out and see what sounds good to me and what will get me moving. I might just WALK for 30 minutes a day. I just have to decide on SOMETHING and DO IT!!
