Exclamation Relapse - 20 Pounds!!

I'm ashamed of myself. I had lost 24 pounds & felt wonderful. I had kept it off for 2 years. I actually looked forward to buying clothes. But, I have relapsed. I have regained 20 pounds. I must make myself get back in shape. I hope this site will inspire me & help me develop some self control. Atkins is the only diet that worked for me. If I hadn't strayed so much, I'd be OK. Anyway, I started today. Wish me luck - PLEASE!!

Thumbs up

Well Simca4,

Atkins isn't the best diet out there. If you read any of the posts or reviewed books you will see it's best to incorporate healthy carbs, fats and proteins. But don't worry, if you just stay positive you will get back to your healthy weight in no time. Just keep strong and don't be too hard on yourself.

Hello simca! Welcome.

That's awesome that you lost 20lbs. It's hard when you've lost weight and then you lose it again.
I hope you don't mind if I ask, but how long did it take for you to regain the weight? Do you know the reasons for the regain?

Good luck though, and again welcome because this is a most suportive place.

Hi Simca!

Welcome!

Please don't feel ashamed of yourself! Use this experience to evaluate what went wrong with your plan this time. It may help to write down everything that you did during those two years that you maintained your weight. Obviously you know how to maintain because you were doing it! Don't think of it as going on a diet to lose weight. That gets us all messed up! Think of it as creating a plan that works for you and will continue to work for you.

As we age we need to revamp what we did when we were younger. Our metabolism changes because WE change.

I'd recommend trying Fitday. It's free and a great way to help you keep track of calories and exercise. Here's the link! www.Fitday.com
