Hi! Y'all sure are motivating! Thank you, everyone who has shared her story.
I'm new and already clogging up the "whole foods" board with my posts. I'm a foodie and I'm trying to channel all my cooking prowess into learning to cook healthy food.
They say that the average woman "keeps" 10 lbs from every pregnancy. Well, I've had 4, so that's about right. I was doing pretty well losing my last pregnancy weight, and then my 7 month old baby was diagnosed with cancer. (No need for sympathy -- it's a year later and she's in remission and doing well. A ball of energy.)
Well, who knew that cancer was so fattening???
For the mama, anyway. So I'm now trying to get back on track losing the weight. My 20 year class reunion is this summer -- pretty good motivation.
I'm definitely "done" with diets and have been on a process of self-discovery, learning what works and doesn't work with my body. Whole foods, with a focus on vegetables and whole grains, are definitely what works. Now, to zoom in and "do" what works! (I don't like fruit ... well, raw apple. That's it. so I need to sub veggies for fresh fruit.) Monday goal: get to the gym and get my 4 year old and baby used to being there.
So glad to find you all.
