This is probably a very dumb question.. But how do you post something that isn't a reply?
You don't have to actually reply to a post in 'Reply to Thread,' you can just post a thought or question in a thread that seems relevant to you. Best to do a bit of a search if you can so you don't start another thread on the same old topics, lol. If you are only working off a mobile device though, it can be difficult to navigate.
You post whatever thought you have by hitting the same Quick Reply button and typing away....
This thread is a general chat anyhow so don't feel shy, hop on in

Hi everyone! I am so glad I found you
I am on day 3 and doing ok. Some of the food is yukky and some is yummy. I wasn't given a restricted list, just the welcome bag full of food. My coach told me to have 3-4 packets a day. I am VERY addicted to cokes and she offered to wean me off, but I am going cold turkey. I quit smoking 20 years ago cold turkey, so I know I can do this!
Where do you find the list of restricted foods?

Hi fandwfarmgirl
Welcome to the group. You will find you like some of the food and not others, although I do know many of us found our taste buds changed as time went on and items we did not like in the beginning we ended up enjoying.
The best way to find out what is restricted is to go to the ideal protein website. They show all the foods available and whether or not they are restricted.
Good luck!

I was pretty addicted to Coke when I started in 2013, I had a pretty rough carb flu for about 6 days. After that, it was smooth sailing! Drink tons of water. Salt in water will really help with the headache. You can do this! You are tough stuff if you quit smoking cold turkey. Wishing you a great IP start!
I love this! Thank you so much! Sorry to take so long to reply. Still learning to navigate a forum and just figured out how to get back to a post. Thanks for taking the time to post such a thorough explanation.
At my first weigh-in, I lost 5.6 pounds. A bit more than what I had expected, but a bit less than what I had hoped for. But I'm good with that. I also lost 6.5 inches. I'm feeling great, and not having an issue staying on track.
Glad that I haven't felt tempted - someone brought cinnamon buns into work the other day, and I didn't care at all.
I'm on day 8 of Phase 1. I lost 6lbs in week 1 . I'm glad I found this forum to chat with like minded IP dieters. There's strength on numbers. I've passed the headache and tummy issues. The hardest part for me is taking 9 pills a day. My coach said it's ok to take 3 at each meal so that's making it easier.
My coach changed my supplements around a bit and removed 2 of the 4 cal-mag tablets. I have a small esophagus and have issues swallowing even smaller pills, so these big ones cause a little bit of a problem. She removed those 2 and moved the 2 cal-mag tablets that I do take to lunch. I've managed to take all 7 of them each day so far.
Welcome newcomers - so glad to see you posting here on the Starter thread - post questions that come up, and know that e perienced IPeeps will give you good advice based on real life experience. You can do this - you all seem to be off to good starts, and getting started is the hardest part! But you are here and you are on your way toward your goals!
Hello Everyone. Hope you're enjoying your Friday wherever you are.
I just found this thread and decided to post. I have been on ideal protein since March 25. While my weight loss has been somewhat slower than I might like (15 pounds), I have been very disciplined about sticking to the program.
I am hoping to make some friends here to make this journey enjoyable. So far, it has been a very solitary experience. I do not know anyone personally that is on IP other than myself and the Dr. who started me on my way. He has used IP with great success, but including me, probably has less than 10 patients he coaches.
Other than monitoring my labwork and selling me the products, I've been on my own. Sure would love to learn along side others who are currently in Phase 1 or those who have reached their goal and are now in maintenance phase. So glad I found all of you!
