Thanks! I am excited to start fresh.
The Diet coach seems to be very knowledgeable, and has been on the program himself. I am eager to follow his lead until I can really do the plan without one on one assistance. He was saying 10lbs a month is good and I think that is reasonable, is that the average weight loss of most people?
I know everyone is different but that seems realistic to me.

Thanks everyone - we couldn't have had a better evening - we were right in between a storm and only caught the tail end - then it kind of cooled off and there was a decent breeze so since I was prepped for 100 it was like 85 lol Weird Al was a blast! I had tears pouring down my face from laughing

One - thanks for the info! I hadn't checked Safeway - kind of figured Harris Teeter would be a safe bet...and Woodbridge has yet to get a Trader Joes. I will be surprised if Wegmans doesn't have it...gonna check Sunday

So please send the good weather fairy our way. Hubby wants to go out fishing with all of us tomorrow on a 5 hour charter - weather (storms) look likely *crossing fingers* ugh...wish IP cured anxiety

If seeds, did you have to start them before planting in the garden, or could you just sow seeds? And is is an annual or a perennial? My DH is still planting in our garden, which I find is really a 'farmette' and if we can still plant some, I will get him on it right away!!!
Regarding rhubarb, usually you have to buy a root/plant from a nursery or get a chunk from a gardener friend. They are perennials and good luck getting rid of them if you decide not to have them in the garden anymore, lol.
They are NOT delicate in the least and take no care at all. We do not water, or fertilize or need to spray etc for bugs. Here's a Burpee seeds site and an heirloom Victory seeds site that you might be able to get them from. The kind I have is the Canada Red - it has great flavour but is only a pink colour when cooked. http://www.burpee.com/vegetables/rhubarb/
http://www.victoryseeds.com/rhubarb_victoria.html Your weather isn't too far off ours (DH has relatives in Maryland a hour or so from you.) - it is a spring plant and pretty well the first fruit of the season. You should be able to grow it easily there. Usually ready to pull stalks in early to mid-May. The trick to keeping it growing with tender stalks is to quickly pull the rhubarb flower stalks out AS SOON as you see them. Once it goes to seed it gets stringy & tough. I pull stalks till I get very tired of rhubarb and throw some in my freezer for winter. A couple months worth of pulling anyhow - if I keep on the lookout for the flower stalks.
I like it stewed up with a little squirt of Nesfrutta Strawberry Banana water enhancer as the sweetener.

Thank you for all your kind comments ladies - I was feeling a bit down yesterday after that online 'incident.'

WootWoot to all the on plan action these past few days from you gals, and I must say that I'm enjoying the busier daily chat lately.
My lungs are bothering me a bit as we are getting lots of smoke from a fire a little ways away from us. This video shows a bad start to a very early fire season... I'm going to have to pull out the Ventolin.

Liana I am glad that your lungs are a little better. I didn't see the post in question, but I can assure you, I am actually quite sensitive to people and how they write, and I have never felt anything but an extreme amount of support from you. I send you love, appreciation, and blessings.

Often people often express their inner hurt, pain, and/or angers in strange ways – projections that have nothing to do with who they are writing or speaking to.

I try to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" (Monty Python lyrics from 'Life of Brian') - seems others do not...

On another note: I will make you jealous with my 'rhubarb porn' from my garden lol. That's my red size 9 gumboot in the photo and a 4 foot step ladder for size comparison.

Liana
I really appreciated that article! I'm 52 and actively look for inspiration like this. Thanks for sharing

Beck Diet Solution thought for the day

"Just think: What if, every single time in the past you had made
a mistake with your eating, you had immediately recovered and gotten right back on track? What if you had automatically said to yourself, “Oh, no big deal,” and continued to eat in a normal controlled way? Wouldn’t you be much better off now?" - The Diet Trap Solution

Thanks for the rhubarb info - I am adding it to the planting for next year.... Maybe in a container if it it is that aggressive and persistent....

So sorry to hear about your fire situation - irritated eyes can really be miserable, and uncertainty runs rampant when fire is in the vicinity. I hope damage is minimal - your part of the world is too beautiful to lose!

Pls do not let thoughtless postings get to you - your postings here on 3FC IP are always informative and often bring a smile to many faces. The stray postings by those with ruffled feathers or narrow perspectives only have power when we allow that to happen - that is not the Liana I have come to know here on this forum!,,

Yes - thank you Liana - I've been digging around and see it IS possible to plant and grow Rhubarb this far south - just looks like the growing season is different.

I saw Wegmans had rhubarb (but was sold out when I got there this morning) and they had a ton at our local farmers market. I was able to freeze about 3 pounds so think I am ok for a bit

One - holy moly! I made the crock pot pork tenderloin today! That is absolutely addicting and other than cutting the rutabaga, AMAZINGLY easy to make! Oh, and the rutabaga! Melt in the mouth and definitely has a yam flavor

Saw some friends tonight we hadn't seen since I started IP - they were so nice to help make dinner *relatively* compliant for me (she is diabetic and already avoids sugar and gluten). We were supposed to have chicken but ended up having Italian sausage - but I think the worst was they had been soaked in beer. ...Oops...I'll survive but something triggered my appetite and I've been nibbling tonight.
It was very nice though and they had some very nice things to say about my physical changes
