Welcome back to all the rebooters!

Question for the chat: Is it more important to have the 4 meals a day (3 packets, 1 real protein) or to eat every 4 hours or so?

I ask because I have been following this schedule:
8:00am- Breakfast
12:30pm- Lunch
4:30pm- Snack
8:00pm- Dinner
10:00pm- Snack

Should I cut one out? What kind of schedule do others follow?

That's an extra snack. Are you splitting a packet in half or having 4 packets?

I am having 4 packets. I think it's time to cut the after dinner snack.

Hi all! I'm new here too, AND I'm a rebooter too. Apparently today is the day for that!

I did IP last year and lost forty pounds (about halfway to goal) and then about 8 months ago I got sick, and my kid was in a major accident, and... yeah. I gained back 30.

But I'm desperate to re-lose it and finish the rest of my goal. And now, after gearing up for a while, I'm here and ready to go.

So I'm restarting, using products from my last time around (the non-expired ones, anyway) and alternatives. No coach, at least not for now. You all get to be my coach. :-D (Honestly, from skimming through the forums, you all seem to know a LOT more than my previous coach did.)

So that's me! Can't wait to get to know everyone, and can't wait to lose this weight together!

If you are going to feel like you are missing something by cutting out your evening snack, you could always split the snack packet so you could have half in the afternoon and half in the late evening. I think it is most important that you are comfortable and that you are continuing to lose weight.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will see how it goes with 3 packets today and then reassess.

This is what I do, I split packets for my snacks. I've never felt deprived, that little snack keeps me going

Interesting article in my email inbox this morning:-

Advances in Obesity Treatment.

Although we have all chosen diet as our method, it looks like the world of medicine is finally starting to realise that obesity is more of a disease than simply an epidemic of "eating too much, moving too little" that the health freaks would have us believe.

I started my first round of IP in May 2013 with great success. I lost 70 lbs. in just about 10 months. Who knows what happened after that, but I slowly gained about 40lbs back. I am now back for round 2 with great motivation ahead... my wedding is in September and I want to be back to where I was!

Hoping to connect with others and stay motivated this time around. I have tried to reboot a few times before and haven't been able to stay OP for longer than a week. This time is different!! Looking forward to the accountability that this forum provides.

Happy Monday!
I am on my 2nd day of my restart. 3 years ago I lost 120 pounds in 7 months. I looked great, felt great, and my diabetes was finally under control. To make a long story shorter, I gained 80 pounds back. My health is not terrific, I am unhappy, I hurt, and I just want to have my life back without food controlling it. I got a lot of support from the people on these pages. I know that I can do it again.

Happy Monday!

Today is the first day of my life. I started again, after 4 years, yesterday. I was healthy, happy, looked good, and lost 120 pounds in 7 months. I felt like a normal person. I didn't finish the phases, became complacent, ate whatever and gained almost 80 pounds back. I can hardly walk because of body pains, I am unhappy, and food has had total control of me. I am standing up and saying "no more". I am back on the plan and with the support I know I can get here, I will succeed. Thanks for letting me know that I am not the only one. I kind of forgot how to do this reply thing, so I may have another message floating around out there.

Stacey - I do 4 packets. I follow a similar timeline as yours but my dinner and after dinner snack are a bit earlier than yours.

Even going off phase 1 for 10 days in Feb, I got the weight off with 4 packets a day. I find I need it or possibly once I added it, I feel deprived if I cut it back out. I need my hot chocolate in the evening!!!

I swear my loss could have been more (my home scale was lower yesterday than today) but I slacked on the water yesterday. Hopping right back up on that pony today.

BTW, Sprouts had Walden Farm BOGO through March 4th in my neck of the woods. Still couldn’t find the creamer though…wish I could find it local instead of ordering online. Too cheap to pay for shipping.
Have you asked if Sprouts will order it for you?

I was wondering if canola oil is okay? I went to Whole Foods and got a salad at the buffet inside and the only salad I could eat had spinach, onions and canola oil in it. Hopefully it didn't hurt. I only ate about a cup of it. But I'd like to know for the future
