Default Heart Problems

Hi, I just started IP for the 2nd time a week ago. Wednesday evening I had heart palpitations that would not go away my heart rate was between 190-215. I stayed overnight in the hospital and was diagnosed with SVT. I'm just curious if the high protein could have caused these issues. I would greatly appreciate any info!

Hey Janelstpe .... I was diagnosed with SVT almost 14 years ago and actually have been placed on IP through my cardiologist. We did discover that the coffee drink and the chocolate drink seemed to give me palpitations and so since then I don't use any of the IP products with the chocolate on or in them and now on week 8 im not having any further issues.

IP isn't a high protein plan.
But when it comes to medical issues, be sure the questions are directed to your health care practitioners. What you'll get here are opinions.

I have also been having palpitations for the past 2 days. Going in for my follow up tomorrow so hopefully they will let me know what to do. Tried Googling a solution and most ppl suggested more salt & water.... I did that without any result. :S

I have zero experience with this. I wanted to say I hope they find an answer for you and that everything is okay!

That's a really high heart rate, and I'd be concerned. Can you get immediate medical advice about whether the diet is safe? Otherwise I'd recommend eating your usual diet at maintenance levels until you can.

The Original Poster hasn't been around for two years.

I hope she's found helpful medical advice from her doctor.
