Happy Wednesday! Down 2 lbs this week. Think I am really down more but my WI and measurements were affected by heavier winter clothes. This Cen Tx Chick is not used to such chilly weather and *60lbs* less fat isn't helping...but I'm not complaining. Flannel pjs are my new best friend.

The best NSVs yesterday. First I hit 201 on my home scale yesterday. Down 60lbs total and half way there!! What, what!?! Onderland, here I come!

For the first time in my life I was excited for a dr appnt. My GP who told me about IP hadn't seen me since April. I am now off ALL prescription meds. Such a great day.

That and the nurse was able to take my BP with the normal sized cuff. She grabbed it off the wall and I thought "Eek! What if it's too tight." Funny to get excited over something so insignificant but the larger BP cuff always reminded me that I was too fat for the regular sized one.

Really holding on to these NSVs as I've been experiencing some diet fatigue these last few days.
Have a great OP day!

Lots to do today. ice hockey season for my son has started do laundry is tripled lol...got to get that done as well as some paperwork for work. Dog is going for a bath at 10:30 so I have time to get some things done before that, then I need to hit the grocery store for supplies....

Good morning, everyone.

I am having such a hard time sticking with the program. I am OP fo a week to an month, lose weight, then sabatoge myself and gain back what I lost plus an extra five pounds. I tried daily emails with a fellow IPer to try holding myself accountable, but that obviously didn't go well. I use alternaives so I am not having a weekly weigh in. I know I can do this, since I did for seven months last year and into this year, until I started to plateau. I got within 19 lbs of my goal, and now the scale has crept back up.

What are some tricks you use to get back on track and stick with it? I'm desperate here! I know Lisa has suggested the beck diet solution but I have still been unable to open the file I downloaded. Perhaps I will try to get that figured out! I know coming here daily helped, but I have been so busy with work sincethe end of the year is coming, but I'm going to try my best!

@shrinkingsusie - "YOU CAN DO IT, WE ALL CAN HELP". That all you can do "Your Best". Take one day at a time.

CenTXChk - Congrats on the awesome NSV's! Halfway there is a HUGE accomplishment!

shrinkingsusie - remember that dieting isn't just a game of numbers with your food. It's a mental challenge too! And sometimes getting into the right head space is harder than changing your eating habits. Take a look at why you are going off the rails - is it stress, boredom? Set yourself up with an alternate plan for when those moments strike....a hobby, a good book, getting out of the house...whatever will keep you away from the food. Willpower is a muscle, you have to use it to strengthen it....maybe think of it like lifting weights at the gym. If you can hold off cheating for 24 hours...that's a little more willpower muscle strength. Then get thru the next 24 hours...a little stronger. Post here when you feel like cheating! I don't have a clinic to keep me accountable either, but knowing I post my menu every day helps me think MUCH more carefully about what I'm going to eat. We're here for you!

Weird week this week. Scale has not moved at ALL this week, but today (on a lark) I pulled out a dress that hasn't seen the light in about a year. It's a size 8. I'm wearing it at work RIGHT NOW So I'm thinking that inches have disappeared even if the scale numbers haven't changed! There is NO WAY I was a size 8 at this weight even the last time I did P1.

Scorbett1103 - Congratulations! Those NSV come in handy when the scale is not working in our favor.

Shrinkingsusie - the mental aspect of dieting is just as important as what we are eating. Don't beat yourself up if you slip, jump right back on the diet. Take things one day at a time and congratulate yourself for each successful day. Good luck you can do this!

Susie, I agree with Scorbett that you need to figure out the reasons why you go off plan. What is your trigger and then do anything you can to avoid it.

For me on past diets, it was my husband. The minute I would start losing weight he would make all of my favorite fattening foods. It was only when we separated for a while that I was able to focus on getting my mind right and strong. Now that I have been on plan for months and have been really successful, I don't fall into the trap of eating my favorite foods when they are available. He can make anything he wants and I won't bite.

The beginning of IP is the hardest so you are torturing yourself when you make yourself start over again and again. Big hugs and I know that you can battle through this!

Holy crow - really exciting weigh in's today ladies! And also a few awesome NSV's too. Great motivation for this hump day!

What keeps me motivated - well, it's only been 3 weeks, but I've not had one bite, lick, or sip that's not OP. I think for me it's a few things:

1. The money - I'm spending a lot of cash to lose this weight, and I don't want to be wasting it!
2. The feeling of being thin and looking good in my clothes. I lost a bunch of weight a few years ago but managed to gain it all back and then some. I have an entire wardrobe that I can't wear, but I remember how good it felt to wear those clothes! Not only that, but shopping in regular stores!
3. The bad feelings I had about myself before I started a few weeks ago. I just remember thinking 'I can't wait to start my diet, I hate how I feel now'. I try to keep remembering that and it motivates me to do well.

I think this board is a HUGE support as well. It's so nice to have other people to chat with and bounce ideas off of.

Here's to all of us - clink clink!

Good morning y'all!

Had a cool NSV this morning - hubby and I were getting ready to leave for work, and he came over and gave me a hug, called me skinny, and said "look I can wrap my arms all the way around you!"

I am a bit confused about two things............bell peppers. Its seems the rules on these are forever changing......tell me if im wrong, we can cook them all except the green ones........

Also turnip and rutabegga, alot of stores sell just rutabaga. and not turnip, I know the glucide index is higher in rutabags, and they are easier to cut. What does everyone think about this. When you make turnip or rutabaga fries is one better then the other?
