Default Welcome All...

This is reposted from last night because I was the last post then the thread was closed.

So nice to see all these new people joining the group and joining in on this magical IP journey. Remember we are all in this together. Since joining this group and starting IP myself, I have not heard even a whisper that this program does not work. Any of the IPeeps who have been around a while will tell you that as long as you're 100% OP then the program will do right by you..100%. Of all the years I've been jumping from one diet to the next, hoping that maybe that next diet will actually work..they never did. Yes I lost weight here and there, but always in an unhealthy way and always put the dreaded lbs back on, plus some. This diet is safe, it is healthy, it is successful and it is fool proof..not to mention, easy. As long as you are 100%. And this group of people are the best. Today marks my 8th full week with IP and about my 10th week with this group. And I can very truthfully say that IP and 3FC's have changed my life...for the better. So, enjoy this program, enjoy this group and enjoy this journey. And again, welcome

Andi

Nice words Andi, and I agree with you 100%!

Making my shopping list for P3 which starts Tuesday and feeling a tad overwhelmed. I'm not one to make a different thing for breakfast every day so I think I'll just buy enough stuff to make two different breakfasts during the week and then something special for the weekend to switch it up. Scary and exciting!

Earlier this week I was beating myself up, comparing my weight to the goal weights of others' on here who are the same height as me. Part of me felt like I was being lazy sticking with the 165 goal and not going lower. But then I had to remind myself that this isn't a competition and I feel and look great! Even though the scale isn't moving down any more my inches are shedding. My waist size is lower than the health risk size and my size 10 pants are starting to feel loose, yesterday I needed to put on a belt. And I can always go back on P1 if I feel I need to go lower.

I'm eager to start an exercise routine, and have already starting working toward my fitness goal--to be able to run a 5k by Christmas. Christmas morning before everyone wakes up, I'll be going out to run my 5k as my gift to myself. Big deal for me, since I've never been able to run even a mile straight through, even in high school.

So anyway, sorry for the long post, but I feel like I've turned a corner this week. Maybe it's because P3 is in sight, but I feel relieved. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

I totally know what you are referring to and I do the same thing. Our bodies are all different and we are not the same ages. I am having to readjust my goal weight from the 150's to 160 because I cannot easily maintain in the 150's. And I wear a loose size 10. When I was 30 that weight for me was 140. there is NO WAY I can get back to that weight.

Thats part of the mental game for me. Congrats on P3 and getting to your goal weight. Enjoy it!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I am new here, and would like a bit of advice-feedback-or any encouraging words. I am at day 40 and the scale has not moved in 12 days. I have not cheated, I drink my water, take my vitamins, eat my veggies, weigh and measure food and get plenty of rest...... so I can't figure this out. I have tried to be positive but today not feeling it as I eat my packet for breakfast and wonder "why" I am working so hard for zero results in almost 2 weeks. I am not a quitter, and have worked within the strict guidlines of IP, even when I saw no weight loss. I keep telling myself it will come, just keep going.
Also, my coach is in Florida and I am in MIchigan until next week so for the past 4 weeks we have only been in phone contact. My coach is sweet but not very experienced with IP, so I ask for help from the real experts, those of you who may have been if the same position I find myself in today.

I agree with you on picking a weight and sometimes we can't help ourselves but compare! But, you are very right in saying that our bodies are all different and we are at different ages. Maintenance is picking a weight that we can comfortably sit at. I am happy between 160-165lbs even though I did get into the 150's when I was losing and got to goal, 155lbs. I like to exercise and find that my measurements don't change a lot from the 150s to where I'm at now. I know what works for me!

Returning to IP after loosing 25 lbs a few years ago. At that time I was advised by my cardiologist to discontinue the vitamins, thought the plan would not work without them...........I lost 8 lbs this past week but I'm concerned of long term affects if I don't take the vitamins.

Would love to have your feedback on this.

Thanks!!!

Happy weekend IPeeps,

I just had to shovel a path through almost waist deep snow, just so my dogs could go out this morning! This is our second snow storm this week!!

Liuba, from what I understand, stalls can happen from time to time, are you measuring as well? Maybe you are losing fat and it is shown in lost inches and not the scale? Don't give up, like it was said above, it does work!

More experience people will give you more informed advice, my words are hopefully some encouragagement to not give up.

Pishposh,I wonder the same thing about my goal weight some times, but like you said, not everyone has the same body time. And not everyone have the same idea of what they prefer. I wasn't overweight growing up, but I have always had a curvier frame (well endowed chests run in the family) and I like it and so does my husband. It's about feeling healthy and happy about yourself, not worrying about how you compare to others.

Have a great OP weekend everyone

Andi - well said!!

Pishposh - I am so there. I'm 5'8" but have a big frame/muscle so will not to be able to get down into the 140's considered "normal." I'm hoping the 180 goal is possible so I can far away from 200, we'll see when I get closer. Good luck starting P3 - you've got this!!

Thanks Andi!

Pishposh: congratulations on your losses so far. I completely agree with you. I see others goal weights and height and wonder if I too should lower my goal weight. For me sticking with this diet has not been too hard ( even with 2 teenagers and DH eating things I can not), my worry is what can I realistically maintain. I am not an overly active person although I am working on that.
I am going to start phasing off next week and see how I do with weekends away and Christmas and then re-evaluate in the new year. I figure if I can make it through the next month I can do anything!

This could be for many reasons. Hormones, excess sodium (which forces you to retain water), are you drinking a glass of water per coffee/tea after the first one? Are you eating the higher carb vegetables rather than a mixture of low and high carbs? Are you making sure to eat ALL of your allowed meals and free lettuce? Sometimes if you are having too few carbs/calories your body will go into starvation mode and refuse to part with fat. Are you taking all your supplements? Any constipation?

One of the things that helps keep me sane when I bounce around on the scale . is using one of the online nutrition trackers (I like SparkPeople and MyFitnessPal, both very good) so you can see how many carbs/fats/protein/sodium/fiber units you are having. After a while you begin to see patterns emerging with certain food types so you can decide if they are too high in sodium to have on a daily basis.

Don't be disheartened, IP is as much about learning how your body handles certain types of food as losing the weight. After all, you're going to come to an end of IP, but you will ALWAYS be eating the food, and you want to understand what is good versus what is merely acceptable, right? Better to have the stalls while on IP than the gains once you are off it.

Did your cardiologist specify which vitamins he doesn't want you taking? If he can clarify which ones then you can build up your own personalised vitamin regime by buying individual ones or visiting a specialist vitamin store so they can help you identify something suitable.

As IP is a very low calorie (aims for between 700-850 calories per day) diet there will obviously be nutrients missing that our bodies need for optimal health. For starters you may need to supplement Vitamin C, as it is the one vitamin that helps with absorption of the others. If you are restricted from certain vitamins you may end up malnourished if you have to be on IP for any length of time.

The only other viable alternative is to look on the back of the vitamin bottle and see what the RDA is, research what foods contain a fair percentage of them and try and incorporate them into IP (if they are compliant, or very close to).

It must be very frustrating, and I hope you can get some resolution on it.

I posted this in a different thread but think it is more appropriate here and others will get it...

NSV- last night I went out with some girlfriends and had a great time. I drank ice water and they drank wonderful looking cocktails and ate yummy smelling food. I was offered sips and bites which I declined. I acknowledged to them that I was really okay and I am really committed to my eating plan. There is an awkwardness to being a complete non-joiner. I know I could have a different kind of drink but I either wanted to drink alcohol or get my water intake.

It reminds me that this is a lifestyle change, I don't have to avoid social situations, I just need to decide (before I go) how I want to participate.

Thank you for your reply Amanda!!!

Cardiologist quickly removed potassium. The others she was concerned about as she felt vitamins are not regulated, even those over the counter.

Currently I'm taking the ITG vitamins - ITG cal/mag, ITG omega, ITG multi. Program indicates 1 of each at breakfast and dinner. I'm taking 1 of each with lunch only. Taking pills is a real problem for me.

Thanks for any input, suggestions, recommendations!!!
