I work full time and go to school full time, my husband works nights (and I need to drive him to work so I have our one car for kid transporation), and my boys participate in karate and cub scouts. I rarely sit!!

I keep a stash of Quest bars and EAS Carb AdvantEdge ready-to-drink shakes in my desk at work. That way if I forget to throw a packet in my lunch bag, or if I am suddenly going to eat a late dinner and need my snack earlier in the evening, I have something I can grab.

I cook up 2 or 3 chicken breasts on Sunday to keep in the fridge. Usually i'll just roast them or poach them, and portion out into single servings. On days when I drive straight from work to school for an evening class, I dice up one portion of chicken, and slice up cucumbers and peppers for a dinner that I can eat in the car. The chicken can easily be reheated for a quick dinner at home too, with a side of frozen veggies!

I also make a big pot of veggie soup on the weekend and freeze in single servings for a quick lunch. Especially this time of year, I LOVE soup! I chop up 8 cups of soup veggies (some combo of mushrooms, onion, canned diced tomato, turnips, celery and zucchini), add 4 cups of broth (usually homemade), and when it's cooked I know I have 4 portions of 2 cups veggie each if I divide it up evenly.

Shakes are super portable, and adding mixes to coffee can ensure you get a packet in while sipping your joe over a project or in a meeting I do alternatives, and Nashua has a few cappuccino mixes that are staples in my arsenal.

I made a really yummy soup puree today that I posted in the IP Puree recipe thread (sorry, I would link it but I don't know how to do that). Anyway, Spicy roasted red pepper and tomato soup. It was amazing and I think it will be even better for lunch tomorrow.

It means posting in a thread so it gets "bumped" up to the first page. Old threads tend to fall back to page 3,4,5 and get hard to find.

Thanks for this thread and for bumping it up. Very helpful, especially the suggestions re what IP products are good for snacking on, as I have only had the Peanut Butter bars (yummy, but trying not to eat very often since restricted). I do cut them up into 6 pieces and keep in a ziploc so that I can have part of a bar when needed (e.g., on airplane, in movie theater, when stuck in traffic). Yes, I still count appropriately

By the way, are there any UNrestricted IP snacks?

BBQ & Salt and Vinegar crisps are unrestricted..puddings and I believe all the drinks are unrestricted. I like the ready to drink ones for quick unrestricted snacking... I have been told the bbq soy nuts are unrestricted by my clinic although someone here when I first started said they were not. I have been using them as unrestricted all along and doing fine.

I love the bars, but try to stay away from them because to me they are not as filling...

Thank you, Sgrealtor1. I do like the drinks as well, but I would not have expected the crisps to be filling! Will definitely pick up a box of those and maybe the soy nuts at my next WI. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

There's no way to tell exactly how your body is going to release the fat on ANY diet. On IP, over the course of their entire weight loss journey, many people average about 2-3lbs per week, so 30 lbs would take about 10-15 weeks IF that is how your body handles the diet. Some lose slower, some faster.
