Joysh, I SO identify with this. I am trying very hard to not make 'predictions' on what the scale will read, because my past history proves that I sabotage myself if I don't reach the number I have set for myself. Now, instead, I am trying to just concentrate on the trend - is it still going down (no matter how little) - ok, just stay the course. Of course, that being said - I am very happy that I was down 2.5 this week!

Awesome job, Avalon! And love your ticker!
My two tickers are a little out of sync. Each interprets the decimal (2.5) a little differently I guess

Rainbow, please keep checking in here and posting. The group support is something we all need! Sounds like you're well on your way! [/QUOTE]
Rainbow you are doing great! I too am at 4 weeks and down 13 lbs and I am happy with that. Your losses for a month are terrific. You are an inspiration to so many. I just copied the new shrimp ball receipe. I can't wait to try it.

Happy Sunday, ladies! Hopped on the scale this morning for my weekly weigh in and I am down 2 pounds. I will be happy with that.
Going to snuggle in with a good book and watch the snow come down. (While DH watches football.)
Hope you all have a great day!

Just dropping by to check in. Rough day at work, but I managed to stay on track. Probably a good thing I was too busy to think about snacking - I am definitely a stress eater...
Now I'm going to put our thread back at the top where it belongs!

joysh Sounds like you are are doing fantastic considering we're barely into Feb. Your body has to look much harder to find fat to burn that the first time around--that's a good thing May the whoosh fairy visit soon!

Is it possible to be producing too many ketones? I've tried looking it up and not found anything relevant.
For the last 3 days I have been losing 0.8lb per day, and it would appear to indicate that something is not right. I know that I am sweating ketones when I exercise, and my pee is colourless but reeks of ketones.
I'm not sure whether to just increase the carbs until it dials down or keep going. It's great to see the scale drop .. but I don't want it to be at the expense of my health, and overloading the liver is probably not the best thing to do for someone who had Hep A as a child. Advice please?

Hi Amanda, It sure sounds like you are burning up fat! If you were weighing once a week, this might turn out to be a whoosh that will even itself out.
How do you feel? Is there any change at all in what you are eating or drinking? Activity?
Some of the loss is likely fluid since your kidneys have to pass the excess ketones. Might be a good idea to drink more water and get enough sodium. Your kidneys are not getting as much insulin to tell them to retain sodium/water, so it's important to watch those things, along with the other supplements. Never hurts to ask your doc to check your liver enzymes, and about what it might mean. Hope you are getting nothing more than a great big whoosh, but better safe than sorry. You are very knowledgeable about this diet. So if something doesn't seem right, it merits looking into.
