Default Alternative suggestions

I did IP in April of 2012 and lost 15 lbs in 4 weeks. It was great, but I fell off the wagon and need to get back. I am starting again but this time going the alternative route. One question I cannot remember the answer to- how do I know what is restricted and unrestricted in terms of alternative bars? Was it the protein count?
*What are everyone's favorite alternatives?
