A handy gadget for doing long slices of veggies or other foods: here's a picture BTW 'mandolin' is a musical instrument, while 'mandoline' is the French name for this type of slicer. Or maybe it's just because I'm Canadian and we & the Europeans use the non-US spelling, lol.

Hi all,
I have questions after reading todays blog.
Are we limited on coffee and tea?
I often have an omelet with veggies for lunch. I use 1 egg and add 3 servings of egg whites 2/3 cup and measure 2 cups of veggies.
I thought this was acceptable but now I'm second guessing.
Advice please

My coach told me I could have my one cup of coffee, but any further intake required an equal amount of water to 'cancel each other out.'
The egg combo of 1 egg + 3 egg whites is equivalent to a packet.

Coffee and tea: If it's decaf or herbal, it counts towards your water. Caffeinated coffee and tea isn't limited but you need to drink an equal amount of extra water after your first cup...caffeine is a diuretic so you need to replace the water you will lose. Just be careful of the "Extras" that go in those drinks...that's where things can fall off the rails. Using "no calorie" sweeteners can add up and overuse can affect your weight loss.
Your lunch omelet sounds fine, Lisa mentioned a little while back that a packet replacement would be equal to 1 egg and 3 egg whites.
TY for your responses...Actually I drink my coffee black. I am very amiss on my water intake and will now make sure I drink the required amount. I have actually started drinking tea...and am loving it. Will make sure it's decaff/herbal. One cup of coffee a day is a good idea anyway.
No - I haven't been adding a 3rd packet. I will try that and see if it helps - thanks for your response!
You're quite welcome! Part of what makes this board so great is that when you have questions so many people can take a look and give ideas as to what might help.
It's really important to get everything listed on the P1 sheet in every day - so all 3 IP foods, oil, salt, water, supplements, protein. IP is low enough calorie that missing any food can really throw you out of whack - your body needs fuel to run and too low calorie can make you feel terrible.
Funny the things that make me happy when I'm in the IP zone...
THose "a-ha" moments when you realize how to turn a regular family meal P1 friendly! (tonight was taco night, I was out of lettuce...subbed cabbage leaves for shells and mixed the meat with cauli rice!)
Well, I am happy to report an NSV today... A skirt that I'd ordered online after baby came that I never wore because it, ahem, stuck on my bottom and hugged (and therefore highlighted) my mummy tummy, fit properly today!!! It wasn't hugging anything and actually looked like it's supposed to! Yay!!!!!
I had planned a day at the planetarium with my kids and my morning became unexpectedly rushed when my eldest missd the school bus (we live about 20 minutes from the school) I had to get all four kids packed into the car in 20 minutes. Something was bound to be forgotten. And that something was my food. I forgot my cut up veggies and my packet. So, I got a tossed salad at the cafe at the panetarium, picked out the carrots abstained from any dressing and it did the trick. Had taco salad for supper and was soooo darn full. It's the best benefit of eating so light during the day... Being so satiated at the end of it.
Congrats skyeavery, madlean, scorbett & kissi on the drops!

Day 9 for me and my first NSV! Wore a pair of scrub pants to work today that, for the first time in months, aren't too tight! Feeling so much better in my skin, already! Whew!
Congrats to all~ everyday is a success
