sweet weeds and grilled lettuce... that'll give the people who make diet jokes some wonderful ammo. Honestly all I can think is a cow grazing in my yard.

I'm sitting here watching my family eat 4 cheese spinach dip thank goodness my food arrived. Sometimes it doesn't bother me but sometimes it makes me crazy when DH keeps eating crap in front of. Not because I can't have it but he needs to lose weight to. My success is not rubbing off on him at all.

Having one of those days... well actually 3 of those days where long distance relationships are really hard. Feeling pretty alone, I need some time away from my kids in order to regain my sanity but that won't be happening. Just wanna curl up in my room and hide right now. While getting my youngest a cookie I almost broke in a way I have never come close to, I may have taken a diet break but I didn't gorge myself on cookies. Thankfully I didn't do that just now but it was a close call. I know they won't make me feel better, no eating will.

Hi gals, just got back from a Health & Wellness Fair our IP Clinic did in conjunction with the Daragonboat Races at our lake. I had a little Avon table and there was a huge room full of clothes that all our 'losers' were selling relatively cheaply although some of us have designer duds in slightly larger sizes (I had Simon Chang blouse, Liz Clairborne skirt suit, some Italian knitwear, DKNY denim capris, etc). I got so much exercise in just pacing around and chatting with people and dancing to live music over the lunch hour (Jesse Mast - seriously talented)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0Gv5RPOliY

I didn't sell a lot but I did have fun in the sunshine and since I took my lunch with me it was totally on my plan:

Lunch
Avocado, Raw - Avocado, No Skin or Seed, 0.5 fruit 161 9 15 2 7 1 
House Foods - Tofu Shiritaki (Spaghetti Shaped Noodles), 113 g (1/2 package) 20 3 1 1 2 0 
San-J - Gluten Free Thai Style Peanut Sauce, 1 tbsp 40 5 2 2 1 4 
Cauliflower - Raw, 1.25 cup 31 7 0 2 3 3 
Fresh - Large White Mushrooms, 3 mushroom 15 3 0 3 0 0 
Grana Padano - Parmesan, 100 gr 384 2 28 36 0 0 
Nuts - Macadamia nuts, raw, 1 oz (10-12 kernels) 203 4 21 2 2 1 
854 33 67 48 15 9

Tomorrow our RCMP Citizens Patrol has a BBQ Get Together planned. I'm bringing a salad - could be a Funday, not sure yet - bringing wine ....And if there are gluten free desserts I may have some. There will be yard games as well - even better after the wine, lol.

Diane,
A belated congratulations on the house. Also, will check out the parenting books you posted, looks like a great resource for work but more importantly for me. I have 6 yr old twins and behaviour seems to get bigger as they get bigger

I ran my first 10km trail run, there was one big hill and lots of rolling hills. It took me an hour and 8minutes, my trainer met me and ran the last km with me which was great. Really happy with how I did.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Lisa hope boating was fun.

Jenny - congrats on your race. I admire anyone who runs. It just always seemed too painful a thing to do but I can appreciate the effort. My son is in a race today too so we're up and getting ready for that.
Wishful thinking: I cry in movies when I see people are sad and I get angry at injustice in the world that I see -- do you think I'll burn any calories watching all those people work up a sweat today??

Grilled romaine is WONDERFUL. don't knock it until you've tried it!
Dandelion greens are one of the most nutritious leafy green (and free! Just go dig up some "weeds! Much less expensive than buying kale)

Ok Lisa -- I'm willing to give it a go... but not today LOL

Glad to see some posters today. It has been a quiet weekend. That must be a sign that summer is here and the nice weather has everyone out and about. Have a great "rest of weekend" all!

To those of you who regularly use alternative products (sorry, couldn't find that thread), could you give me your expert opinion on the following?

I found a new bar in the Pharmacy section of my grocery store, made for Diabetics, called "LEVEL Life". There are 2 types. Could someone tell me how close these are to the nutritional levels of an IP bar? They sure are cheaper, and much lower in calories than other alternative bars I've seen. And, they taste good!

Chocolate Peanut Crunch: Cal 140, Fat 6, Carb 14 (Fiber 6, Sugar 1, Sugar Alcohol 4), Protein 13. The better choice, nutritionally.

Caramel Chocolate Peanut: Cal 140, Fat 6, Carb 18 (Fiber 6, Sugar 4, Sugar Alcohol 6), Protein 11.

Could eat one hard-boiled egg white with it to ramp up the Protein.

Thanks, did IP about 2 years ago, didn't phase off, and I'm back in the saddle, hoping to do it right this time around!

As you recognize the protein is a tad light (IP ranges from 12-20). The fat is just a touch over 30% (fat 6 x 9 calories in a fat gram = 54 x 3 to see if it is over/under 1/3 of total calories = 164)

You could try it and see if it stalls you or you could limit to a couple a week to start.

Why am I so sensitive to the aftertaste of WF products? Pancake syrup, chocolate syrup and I vaguely remember trying the ranch (mom LOVES it), but it is that taste after I have it that just grosses me out. Why?! Same thing with Splenda. I'm guessing that's why but urgh!
