It's true AL: There is no room to cheat on this diet by choosing crap for your 'points', etc. But that is also what makes it hard...we must from the start learn to change how we use food - no more soothing with food, celebrating with food, grieving with food, etc. Learning to feel that food is just fuel for our bodies so we can have wonderful life experiences (not that we can't enjoy our food, but the act of eating itself becomes less central to our being). Practice mindful eating while you are losing and maintenance will not be as much of a challenge...
Hugs to all going through the 'struggle'!

Great work on the hcg weight loss!

Seems like maintenance is tricky after any diet....

I have done every diet ever invented also.

What makes IP hard mentally?

Although I'm approaching Week 3 of Phase 1, I'm finding that I still crave pizza....specifically, cheese, bread, and butter. I think the program is easy in the sense of what foods to pick (since it's so limited), but ...for me...it's still difficult to finally break the psychological/emotional aspect of eating because I've been an emotional eater for over 30 years! I haven't slipped up, but God give me the strength to stick with it!

I love Ideal Protein. It really does seem easy once in ketosis. Just 5 weeks into the program and I don't have any cravings for sugar.

I just love it too.

I can't believe how easy it is when I remember my major struggles

and complete failures on other diets in the past few years

I find it hard to do, but it works. The struggle is all in my head- I find it difficult because I am still breaking free from the lies I have told myself for most of my life- that I deserve a treat, that eating certain things will make me happy, that I "need" a soda or sugar- etc etc etc- the list seems endless.
