I just got back from WI, no loses but not freaking out, had 4lbs last week. Anyway, I heard that they are adding more letteces to the unlimited lettuce, to include spinach (as long as it is not sauteed), boston lettuce, and I think arugula. I also heard some vegies are going unlimited -celery, mushrooms and red pepper. I didn't write them down. Did anyone else hear this? I wonder what is the reason for the change? I have never fused too much about the lettuce choice but always counted the veggies. I figured when I started not losing I would count the lettuce.

The clinic I go to say that lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, and celery are unlimited.

Default New Here - Really have the urge to snack suddenly

Hello!
I am new to the forum. I started IP on January 19. As of Tuesday, I had lost 46 pounds. I have no idea on my goal as she encourages fat% goal instead of weight goal. I have already surpassed the goal I had had in my head for more than 6 years. I have also surpassed the clothes size goal, too. No complaints about IP really. As for th fat% goal, she says 30%, and I am still at 39 down from 48.

We went on an extended vacation with family. I did really well. We ate out a ton, and I made good choices. I did taste - one or two bites at meals. No way close to what I would have done had I not been on the plan. I really had not cheated before that. Since we have been home, I want to snack. I think it has something to do with being home more than I was the weeks before our trip.

Because it had not been a problem, I really haven't explored snacking options. I do have 4 packages a day already - a bar, pasta, chips and a shake. Can you give me some suggestions for snacks - preferably sweet.

Thanks!

Default Sucualose and headaches

Hello on Friday the 13th and the moon is full too!

Mid way into my 3rd week. I am realizing that the sucralose ingredient in my shake packets is making me get a headache and bothers my stomach most every time I make a shake.
This week I bought some clean whey protein isolate and made my own shake mixes. I feel so much better now - and the homemade shakes taste pretty good, though not as think. Has anyone else had issues with the sucralose or made their own shake mixes ?

Have a great weekend everyone!

You both made me smile, good news! Hope it pans out. I know some clinics have given their own take on the protocol sheet and said unlimited cucumbers and celery - but it's never officially been on the sheet that way. I have to admit, I haven't put my cucumber in a cup to measure them. I'm sure my eyeballing of them is a little generous. I have several cucumber plants in the garden this year, and one red pepper plant :-)

If you're feeling snacky, have you considered splitting up your packets so you can eat more often? I have chips everyday, and I sometimes divide the packet in half. The restricteds are good for splitting up, too. My coach's only advice as far as the timing of eating goes is not to eat packets too close to each other (My absolute minimum is 2 hours between them).

So excited! Yeah, it's Friday...so that means weigh in day for me! We last week was my first week switching over to alternatives and not spending the $90 a week to see my coach. Just to make sure I didn't slack off, I bought the scale that they use in the office and now have it at home! It's so easy!!!! I also bought the tape measure! So this week I lost another 3.6 pounds and another 2.5 inches! Total pounds lost for week 7 is 25 and I have lost 19.5 inches!!! Life could not get better! I also just switched to Phase 2 and am really liking that I can eat more meat! YEAH! In two weeks I will be on to Phase 3! WOO HOO!

I do not know what the official statement is, but when I went in for my weight in today and I had not done well despite being, I thought, 100% OP, I had not done well.

I did not read the protocol sheet well (my fault, did not do my research) and I had happily been adding delicious red and yellow peppers to my salad at lunch and then roasting them for dinner. I was advised that they are absolutely NOT OK and that they are very high in carbs. That was why my weight had been going up instead of down for an entire week!

Green peppers only.

So who knows, but that is the poop as I got it today?

Green only was the way to go many years ago apparently:
The latest official IP protocol sheets state only the words 'bell peppers' and 'hot peppers' on the APPROVED list. No restrictions are made by colour, and often hot peppers are red or orange. One cup of green peppers raw chopped = 4 net carbs, 200% Vit C, 11% Vit A while one cup of red peppers raw chopped is 6 net carbs, 317% Vit C, 93% Vit A. Yellow peppers 1 cup raw chopped = 5 net carbs, 306% Vit C, 4% Vit A. I think that is bunk to put it mildly - just going by the IP protocol sheets. Coloured peppers ARE NOT LISTED ON THE 'OCCASIONAL' LIST in the protocol sheets. With a diet this restrictive we need as many natural vitamins as we can get. They are not high in carbs.

I think she was specifically referring to the mini sweet yellow, red, and orange peppers which are 4 net carbs for 3 mini peppers, which chopped is probably 1/4 to 1/3 cup. My math is my weak suit but I am looking at about 12 to 16 net carbs for a cup of chopped mini peppers?

Just for good luck, I will stay away!
