ME!! I'm an all or nothing type of gal too, as someone else posted, for me it's 100% or nothing. I am determined to lose this weight and keep it off. I see this as a new lifestyle, not a diet. I never want to go back to the old way of eating. Ever. And i've invested too much money, time, effort, heart, soul, etc. to risk a set back with a cheat. It's just not worth it to me. So by the grace of God, I will stay 100% OP.

I was telling my mom that I seem to have a very "all or nothing" personality, so I haven't found it difficult at all to do IP 100%. What I'm trying to work on is changing my mindset for forever eating.....that just because I have a few things that are less than healthy doesn't mean that I should give up on healthy eating altogether.

As a therapist, I'll admit that I am FASCINATED with how different personalities cope with the restrictions of this diet. I'm a massive people-pleaser, over-acheiver, perfectionist type person. I know that a lot of my work with healthy eating will come once I get to maintenance, and I won't have such limits.

But I know that eating and feeling guilty afterwards or hiding my unhealthy choices is NOT how I want to live again. Life is too amazing to waste all that energy!!!!!
One of the reasons that I went to a new coach (thank you, Ruth Ann) is that I, too, am well aware that my real challenge will arise on maintenance. I am not saying that Phase 1 is a cake walk (sorry about the food reference) but the strict rules and clear limits are reassuring.

It is the removal of those limits that will be tough. I have decided I am going to leave my "goal" the same as I began but that I will remain on Phase 2 probably 10 pounds longer to give me some reassuring cushion.

Then I will work like crazy with the coach to get my mind wrapped around the greater freedom of maintenance and how to handle that freedom.

Now that I don't have a coach, Maintenance has been this scary thing that is approaching. I know many have done it without a coach and I pretty sure I can do it too. I never thought in the beginning that I would get this far. But I've surprised myself. Phase 1 is just so safe.

QUESTION: I started phase 2 today. In 2 weeks when I start Phase 3 is where I get confused. On the protocol sheet it says
1 Protein, 1 Carbohydrate, 1 Fat and 1 Fruit
Ex: 2 Slices of Whole Grain Bread with Butter, 1 Egg, Ham, Yogurt & an Apple

So by the example: How much butter? how much ham? how much yogurt? how much fruit?
How do you know how much protein, carbs, fat and fruit is the right amount?

You're phasing off prior to goal???

This thread is essential. Make time to read the whole thing!! I studied it for quite a while before venturing into P3
Phase 3 Breakfast Ideas

Here is a worksheet that is also essential to figure out P3 (it is in the sticky thread)
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/4803897-post58.html

And there are many pages to read about P3. One explains it much better.
Go to this post in the stickies and download the Explanation of Phase 3 document. It is MUCH more helpful than just the P3 sheet.

I'm soooo happy to see all the P1 100%ers coming out of the woodwork! This is the place that supported me through a 90 lbs weight loss and will continue to support me when I jump back on P1 July 28 to head to goal! The people I consistently see with the most success are 100% OP and follow the maintenance plan after they reach goal.

For those of you who don't know me, I've been maintaining for approximately a year and trying to get my thyroid to start "acting normal" again. Very low cal/carb diets can be hard on thyroids and mine sorta shot craps.

I thought yesterday's Beck Diet tip was perfect for the 100%ers:

July 8, 2014 - Tuesday Reality Check

If you’re following the Beck Diet Solution program, it doesn’t work to only do the skills you feel like doing. If you had an infection and your doctor prescribed you 10 days of medication, you won’t take 5 and expect it to work. This is the same thing – if you want it to work, you have to take the full dose.

So great to see so many committed to staying 100%! I've often said I couldn't have done it without all the support here!

Had to laugh at myself Friday though - needed new PJ bottoms to wear around the house. Started looking for the large - they're supposed to be loose, right? First time in my life I actually had to try on PJ pants. XS is what I ended up with - I think I danced in the dressing room!

I sure did! Thanks Lisa. I have a shopping list for the weekend and I'm going to do a plan for each day of the week over the weekend so that there is nothing missed! Definitely looking forward to those breakfasts! But kinda scared at the same time. Phase 1 is just so clear and concise to me and I'm good with rules. But freedom of choice. Yikes!!
