Alternative Plan Phase 1

Hello everyone!
I've been doing ideal protein for 2 weeks now. The first week was hard I cheated a lot and I'm on day 5 of week 2 and I'm extremely tired and have huge cravings today! I worked out for the last two days and missed it a lot but this morning I'm exhausted. So I was wondering if anyone was on the alternative plan ? And how is it working for you? I love the fact that the protocol is really strict so I know what to eat and what works. .. but I need to workout !
Thank you!

Cath138 - if you cheated a lot the first week and are only on day 5 of week 2 you really haven't given IP a chance to work. Your body is still adjusting to the diet and getting into ketosis.

I would lighten up the workouts for a couple of weeks and stick strictly to the plan. Light exercise is fine but if you're doing heavy workouts you need to add an extra packet afterwards. You can increase your exercise after your body has adjusted.

Feeling exhausted, etc. is normal while getting into ketosis. Hang in there, it really does get better.

Here is what I posted in the Alternative Thread where you posted your question with less info than here!

It doesn't look like you have been on the standard IP very long? (How long??) It is not unusual to go through a week or two where you don't feel your best as your body gets into Ketosis (which keeps hunger at bay) and your body figures out how to operate on the new fueling system.

Have you been 100% for however long you have been on IP? Maybe post your menus and ask questions that may help us guide you. There may be a few simple tweaks that would get you feeling great quickly!

The Alternative plan definitely can help people, but the losses are definitely slower.

I just wonder if there is a way for you to follow IP and get to the energy level you want (not feeling like "crap"!), also meaning you can and maintain nice sized losses which are VERY MOTIVATING!

Jlus and RuthAnn- it's actually my second time on IP (first time 2 years ago) so I know how it works but this time I really feel different and I'm not in a rush to lose weight so i'd rather be able to train 5 to 6 days a week and eat a little bit of carbs fruits and dairy, then feel like "crap" I pushed trought yesterday went to bed early and I feel even worst this morning :-( so i'll give the alternative plan a go and if it doesn't work well i'll come back for the regular protocol!

Cath138, I was very into working out each day too, sometimes even 2x's a day. It really helped with my mood and energy level. I am vowing to get back into my routine and starting tomorrow morning with my RPM class. You can do this and the key to me doing so well I believe was everyday I was in bed by 8:30 and this kept me from eating. However I have now turned into my mother and I'm eating junk while laying in bed. Today is the end of doing that.
Let's do this and we can achieve any goal we set for ourselves.

Missing real food day two of second week

I am really missing the eating part. I now have modified it a bit and have 2 hard boiled egg whites in the morning with my shake. Mid morning around 10-10:30 I have half a cucumber with some sea salt on it. For lunch salad or cooked broccoli with my protein. At night just two cups of veggies and real food ( chicken fish ) one more shake about an hour before bed.

Should I add extra protein to my shake. I use two scoops which gives me 25 grams of protein plus lots of amino acides. Though that won't help with the wanting something to actually eat. Any suggestions:?:
