Forgot my daily salt!

Forgot to add my salt today, what should I do? I added it to a. Bottle of water, but tastes awful....is it a big deal?

You can just lick it off the back of your hand (I've done it more than once) and then drink some water. Probably easier to get down than a bottle of salt water!

I like to cut up some cucumber and sprinkle with salt. Pretty tasty snack!

I hardly ever get my salt in - sometimes I add it to my veggies. I do take iodine supplement to make sure I get that in but I just don't like all the salt. I have not had headaches - Is it ok to skip?

I don't think one day will kill you but I know the body really needs it so it is something we should try and remember. I have a hard time as I do t tend to salt my food. I'm wondering g if it matters if we cook with it as seasoning instead, is that good enough.

The salt is important because on IP you will get no where near the amount of salt you would get on a "normal" eating plan.

Many of us know to be very careful with sodium in take and have spent years trying NOT to add additional salt... But now we need to do just that. (FYI - you aren't adding it just to avoid headaches, but because your body needs it to function.)

Thanks, gonna try to find some tiny baggies today and portion out my salt and put it in my vitamin reminder. But it's exactly like you say, I never add salt to my food and having a hard time remembering.

One of the ways I get my salt in is that I mix it into my WF salad dressing and pour it on my romaine at lunch and dinner. Then I put it on my two cups of veggies at each meal and I've gotten in my daily requirement. It's just become part of my meal prep.

I had a few rough days when I know I wasn't getting enough salt so what I do now is in the AM when I wake up I just put 1/4 tsp of it in a tiny glass of water and gulp it down. At least this way I know I got my minimum for the day and I don't risk over salting my food just to make sure I got it all in.
