Great NSV for me today - a client I hadn't seen in 6 months came in and said "where'd the other third of you go?" Just tickled me!
Ruth that's great - you must feel fantastic again you are an inspiration
Wonderful first day in Maui! Had an extra packet and maybe a little extra protein at the Luau but pretty good considering... What a wonderful, beautiful place this is!!

P2 worked really well for one of my vacations & I was able to stay on the weight loss track but not feel guilty about "extra" protein

Thanks Lisa, I'm going to the store to buy some eggs today. I want to have boiled eggs on hand to tide me over if I need it. Thankfully are walking quite a bit and will be heading out early this morning for whale watching... have a great weekend!

Hiker, you look great!!!
I want to post some pics, but I don't have many before pics that were real recent - except my driver' license that was taken 2 weeks before I started IP.
Had a great NSV (I thought so at least) last night. The little consignment store in my little town had a 2 year anniversary sale last night. I hadn't seen the owner in a long time (she hadn't been working the last several times I had been in). When she rang up my purchases she said "oh my goodness look at you, you look so different". I smiled and said thanks. She asked if it was planned and i said yes. Then she said congratulations. She said she didn't want today congrats until she knew it was planned in case it was due to illness.

vachinyc I hear you on all of this. I have been maintaining like joysh for over a year and have done great. Did a reboot recently and lost the 5 I put on plus another 5. For me, this will be a lifelong daily journey of weighing, planning meals, planning cheats, thinking about how much/why, yes/no, etc. and a few reboots here and there to make sure I never go over my 5lbs range.
When you say the scale is bouncing all over the place, what are your ranges? How much fluctuation are you experiencing?
Glad you're here too - I think it helps us to learn from those who have kept it off. It also helps me to have faith that it is possible
So, the good news is that on a weekly basis, I've stayed at or below my goal weight. The daily weights are what are all over - which I suppose makes sense and shouldn't worry me.
Vachinyc, those daily weights are killer. When I was in my slowdown and retaining fluid in my ankles it made me crazy. So, now I limit my stepping on the scale. I am also thinking about my goal weight. Still not sure, but plenty of outside opinions are being offered. Most saying, enough. How can it be enough when the IP scale still reads obese! Why do people have the need to comment at all? Ugh!

slipfree The goal weight idea made me crazy too. Initially the clinic scale said 177 would be about right. Which made sense to me as it was a weight I'd been at prior for about 8 years or more. Even though it wasn't thin, it was 'ok'. Then, when I got there, their scale still said I needed to lose more to get into normal bmi and body fat percentage. So I kept going until their scale said my bmi was in normal. That took me to 155. By then I was having some diet fatigue as well and getting antsy...so we decided to move into phases 2 and 3 and maintenance.
Now, I'm in maintenance and I wonder if I should have gone lower. LOL. I think it's partially fear...it's scarier to be in maintenance than to be actively losing. But also I'm not loving my pants size yet. HOWEVER, i do need to start doing some toning. I've really done none of that.
I'm going to give maintenance a go for a while and see what happens. I've done one week so far and didn't gain. I didn't do a no-rules day yet per se but I had a rules-lite dinner (w drinks) and did a phase 2 day the day after...no gain. We will see

vachinnyc, Is that NYC, my mother country?
Yes, it's very possible to keep it off. You're right, the beginning of maintenance is scary. But you'll get the hang of it. Each of us is so different, so we each have to find our own way and figure our own limits. You'll do it! You've done great so far!
