Good morning. Went out with friends last night. Ordered chicken and it came with two sides. Asked if I could have 2 side salads as my sides. Enjoyed everyone's company and stayed on plan 100%. What I have learned from being on ideal protein since 2010 is that this is not a diet. We are changing the way we eat. We cannot go back to our old eating habits and keep the weight off.

Our old eating habits got us fat!
IP is about quick weight loss and then about learning new ways.

Question to all: who posted the link to the IP nutritional info? I didn't bookmark it but now the questions about gluten content has come up in another thread. Post the link again and I'll add it to the daily links.

Just remember the check list is ONLY that...once a date passes or a lot number changes all bets are off and the ingredients can and do change on a dime in the processed food industry. All that is required by law is they list the ingredients BY BATCH on each BATCH.

Food starch, which there admittedly in IP products is little to NONE...is famous for being a source of gluten. The food industry buys generic "starch" or anti-caking agents in bulk, and sometimes it's wheat...sometimes its potato...sometimes is corn...sometimes its tapioca....etc. READ READ READ..esp if you are super sensitive. With celiac...all that hidden stuff...it can trigger spru.

Sorry...Not sure if this link is working..try googling celiac support association. They have a lot of info on food labeling, and their many pages of support topics are very helpful.

Happy Friday fellow IP'ers! I've been staying OP but it's been hard. I have been depressed and I've really have been wanting to eat foods that I THINK will make me feel better. Doesn't help that I ran out of yummy bars to help. I paced the kitchen and then decided to go to bed early. That cured it right away, I went right to sleep.
I'm SO glad that my order of goodies will be coming in on Saturday IF not tonight.

YAY Smooshie!! Keep it up!

Good morning all! Day 5 of restart and I stepped on the scale this morning to see a 3.6 lb loss since yesterday. I mentioned it on the restart thread, but I had a terrible migraine and nausea on day 1 so I went off plan and ate some sugar snap peas since that was the only veggie I had in the house... so maybe I'll call this day 4 instead. Either way, I'll take it! Fairly certain I'm in ketosis now as I have the muscle aches that I tend to get the first few days.

Steppy1974... I know the feeling. When I'm super hungry or wanting comfort food I like to sleep it off or if that's not possible, visit these forums to reinforce why I'm doing this and I know it will be worth it in the end. You're doing so well!! Don't let the cravings win.

Good for you for not giving in to the cravings. I was miserable when I started IP because I had relied on food for so long to regulate my moods when I felt sad, anxious, stressed, and so on. Being on IP has made me look at how I cope with things and find healthier ways to manage, instead of using food as a comfort, a reward, incentive, etc. You are doing the same every time you choose not to give in!

Hey everyone. TGIF!! I'm a little sad this morning because I go into Starbucks to get my vanilla blonde roast and realize that they are pumping a syrup into it. I asked if the syrup had sugar in it and of course it did. I don't know what I was thinking. Luckily this roast has only been a new thing for me this week and glad that I realized it now. Still, I'm a little nervous about my WI on Sunday bcus I feel like this will affect me.

Steppy - I just discovered this, my go to when I want something sweet and decadent - "Red Velvet Cuppa Chocolate Tea Bags -ave your cake and sip it too! Indulge your sweet tooth with this healthy, caffeine-free infusion. Rooibos is blended with chocolate and beet root bits to taste just like the classic red velvet cake. The perfect cup to accompany birthdays and other celebrations." I'm totally addicted, it's warn and filling and delicious and it's a free drink!!! You can buy it at World Market or order it online from The Republic of Teas!

I really hope the scales show that I've reached goal tomorrow. I had 1.8 to lose and my scales say this morning, butt naked, that I'm .4 lbs away so feeling very nervous. I just booked a ski trip with my best friend for the 5th of March and I wanted to be through Phase 4 by then. I will need to up my workouts and add cardio to be fit - and I was counting on being able to do that with the carbs you're allowed in Phase 4. I guess I could just move to Phase 2 anyway but I really want to hit my goal. Wish me luck!

Good morning. I have my Friday afternoon weigh in today. I believe there will a loss, not sure how much since afternoon weigh ins are always a guess. Slow and steady is winning it at this point.

I want to see all of the best picture nominees and am starting tonight by going to Nebraska(the movie). What is fun about this is a lot of it is filmed in Lincoln where my daughter is at school, so it is very familiar. Plus I love Bruce Dern.

We are going to The Wolf of Wall Street tomorrow afternoon and then watching football on Sunday.
