As a newbie, one thing that helped me is finding out that it is ok to have chicken broth. The 99% fat free one. Helps with headaches & dizziness. I've been trying to use all the prescribed salt but I guess I wasn't hitting the mark. Off-topic but thought I'd mention it.

Thanks much! Today I've been feeling light headed and no energy. Although I think I've had enough salt(one of my favorites) I'll try the broth as well. TY
I'm also using my 2 Cup glass measure, which is 16oz, yes. Is this ok to measure out my veggies using this?. I'm sticking inside the 2C line
I also noticed that if I cut up my veggies into smaller pieces, I get more into my cup.... Anyone else notice this?

Measuring veggies can be a bit challenging, depending on the veggies. Everyone has their own system on how big or small they cut them up. I love keeping my asparagus as spears, so I just pop them in a measuring cup and get it close. I do the same for green beans. I have never had a problem doing it this way.
Almost forgot....I believe Avalon is over 6'.

Also posted on the Daily Thread, thought I'd try here too
Good morning! So I am now slowly and cautiously making the move to alternatives - the IP packets are just too expensive. I've been OP close to five months and still have 2-3 months to go on P1. I've scoured the alternative threads for information and have been studying nutrition labels, I'm ready to take the plunge - but have one question for you experts out there. How do you calculate the "30% or less calories from fat" ? Here's a label from a carton of Muscle Milk Lite for example.
Calories 100
Fat 2.6 g
Saturated 0.5g
+Trans 0g
Cholesterol 10 mg
Sodium 270 mg
Potassium 520 mg
Carbohydrate 5 g
Fibre 1 g
Sugars 0 g
Protein 15 g
Based on this - how would you make that calculation?

I think if you go to Private Messages you can start typing in her name and it will give you a drop down list to pick from. You can send a private message. The other thing you can do is go to the search option in the purple banner on the top of each page and type the user name there as well. Go to the advanced search for more options. I hope that helps. I don't do a lot of searches in the forum itself. Most of my searches are in Google and I just include the term 3fatchicks.com in my search terms.

Gettinhealthynow :
"... How do you calculate the "30% or less calories from fat" ? ... "
thought I read, if you take the fat x 3, the total should be less than calories ....
I hope this this correct

Thank you for the nice compliment. I need to update my avatar photo. I think I lost another 10 lbs or so since that was taken, but I really liked that picture. I generally have NEVER liked pictures of myself, lol.

There seems to be some confusion in determining fat calories %
If you know the fat calories multiply it by 3 and if that number is less than total calories its ok
If you only know the fat grams multiply the grams by 9 to get the fat calories then multiply by 3 and it should be less than the total calories.
Hope this helps!

Calling all EAS (I'm using as alternative to IP packet) Users & BJ's members .. Check BJ's website for a $5.00 off coupon. Coupon is only good until 2/2/2014! You can print & use up to two per household. BJ's in Wappingers Falls,NY is selling EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control for 26.99-5.00=21.99
With hubby and me, we're going thru a bunch ! This is a great savings.

This is the thread for alternative discussions.
A couple others have been started.
According to the guidelines for starting threads, we use the existing ones.

Well, if we can keep this thread at the top and get folks to stop posting in the duplicate alternative threads, maybe we can get someone to answer your question.
Sorry. I don't use the cereals so I can't answer.
