My name is Susan and I am new to this site, but I have found it so helpful already! I am on day 5 of IP. Not feeling hungry, and in fact it sometimes difficult to eat all the food I am supposed to. I am having transient headaches and not a lot of energy, but I am hoping that will go away soon. I am excited for my first WI on Monday.

I try to plan out a week's menu in advance which works pretty well for me. I do stay flexible because, well, life happens sometimes. Cutting up a week's worth of veggies in advance makes it so easy to just grab what I need. I also portion out meat (or dh does) in the right amount so it's all freezer in the right amount and I can just grab it without having to re-weigh.

Look up in the stickies and there are tons of really good recipes for dinners, stuff you can make with packets and so much more.

Hi Susan! The first week or so is the toughest and you should start feeling better. I started getting tons of energy around day 7 or 8. As for the headaches, are you getting all your salt in? I find I get headaches if I miss my salt - I just lick it off my hand and follow it with a huge glass of water, works like a charm!

Best spot to look for recipe links is the first post of the Daily (or weekend) Chat. They're there every day.

I want to thank you all for your help during my 1st IP week. I had a very tough go of it. Mostly with hunger. By Thursday I felt unable to complete my Pilates Reformer class. Even working with lower weights just felt too difficult. Yesterday was my weigh in. Less than 1 pound. I felt very discouraged.

I have decided to return to Atkins for these last pounds. I think I do better with meat and veggies than packets. I am more able to control my sodium.

I wanted to say thank you, and not just disappear as so many do. I'll be over in Atkins. Wishing you all the best with your ultimate goals of good health.

Hey all, I'm glad I found this site cause I need support from fellow dieters so bad. I don't have a ton to loose, 20 lbs, but started the diet mostly to reset my system. I've been suffering from depression and anxiety more recently and hoping this diet will help me with my goal to be medication free. I used to never loose or gain weight, the last 6 weeks before starting I gained over 10 lbs and I wasn't even eating too poorly.

I have been on the diet 2.5 weeks. I've lost 3% body fat already! I have felt weak and tired and a little bit disoriented at times, so I'm a bit worried, but am told by my coach it's normal at first. I have dreamed bout cheating. I do find during the dayI feel ok, and even enjoy the food, but in the evening I feel desperate for carbs. I literally cried last night because I wanted a donut so badly.

First WI today and I am down 4.4 pounds. It was nice to be able to get the packets I chose and to be done (almost) with the starter packets I got at the beginning. I so appreciate being able to read everyone's posts; it really helped me get through the week and to not cheat

Hello All,

I restarted I P yesterday. I feel terrible today, actually left work because of the headache. Looking forward to day 4 or 5.

Last year at this time I started I P and lost approximately 30 lbs. I felt so much better with the weight off. I phased off early because I never had the energy most have in ketosis. I maintained until about September, then returned to bad habits. Once that happened, I could not stop myself.....I I ate everything in sight, gained back the weight I lost and added 20 more pounds.

So this time I have to learn how not to sabatoge myself.

Starting my second week on Phase 3 and I must say... I find fitting all that food in at breaky is hard for me. I don't want to use the ready made phase 3 drink/shakes for that meal though. Waaaay too expensive and I would rather eat 'real' food. I kinda have to lick peanut butter off a spoon just to get my fat in at breakfast and I don't even want my fruit unless I stick berries in my cereal which works OK. Looking forward to phase 4 Maintenance YAAAAY! I actually lost a pound (and another inch) while I was away on my trip to a family wedding even though you usually gain a couple refilling your glycogen tanks when starting phase 3. My body just seems to do better with more food. I've been on the alternate plan ever since 1/2 way through phase 1 and I lose better and feel better on it too. Only 1 more pound and I will be back at my model weight - just bought size 2 skinny stretch jeans yesterday - it's feels good to be back.
