You can't get those anymore...

  • Hello All,

I have been lurking for a little while and finally decided to post.
I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I have not found a thread about this subject.

So, I went in for my weigh-in last week and had asked for x3 packages of the BBQ Ridges... they were out, didn't have any.

Went in this week and they still don't have any. I was told they can not order them unless they order 16 boxes at a time. What the heck!
I'm not trying to stir the pot, but why put that on your sheet, get you hooked on it and then pull the plug?

This also happened to me with the White Chocolate Cinnamon bars. All I heard about that is 'you can't get those any more'

Anyone experience this? I'm pretty frustrated with it, especially since I only eat a few of the products, I don't like much else!

Is there a place I can order my own IPs without buying 16 boxes? Just doesn't make sense to me at all... isn't that why I'm paying all the 'fees' grrr

    Thanks!
    Julie

  • My coach said they discontinued the soy protein? Has anyone else heard that?
  • White Cinnamon and Double Chocolate bars, Lemon Puffs, Peanut Puffs, Soy Patty, Chicken Patty and Chocolate Chip Cookies were all discontinued recently.

BBQ Ridges are available, maybe your coach was just sold out?

ETA: I think your coach is referring to the way IP makes you order product quantities. My coach said ridges need to be ordered in sets of 8, bars in sets of 3, vitamins in sets of 12 and so on.
  • Maybe you're the only one at that clinic who likes them so,they want you to order the whole thing? I would be upset too. Maybe ask on the IP Facebook page, they seem to respond quickly when clinics are doing unusual things!

I am still able to get peanut soy puffs, and I asked if they had a large stock of them, and was told they are able to order them (they weren't for a few weeks). It is hard when they discontinue something you really like.

    @Avalon - Savvy!
  • Maybe you can check around and see if there is another clinic in your area that would be willing to sell you some if they have them in stock.
  • My clinic has been out of the chocolate pancake mix. I make it into a muffin for breakfast. It's thrown me off because it was the only non-restricted food that held me for breakfast. Hope they get it back soon.

Ali - I think the chocolate pancakes are actually restricted, but I could be wrong. You might want to check.

I'm glad my clinic stays well-stocked. The only thing she's had problems getting is the vanilla crispy squares.

Ruth Ann: on the P1 sheet, pancakes are listed as restricted.
  • Thanks Lisa - not in a place where I can look right now and couldn't remember if both types of pancakes were listed as restricted.

Yup!! Thanks Ruth Ann, it is restricted. That would explain why I feel better having it for breakfast. It's much more satisfying than the choco peanut bar.
  • Nashua has products I liked. They are restricted and come in a more barbecue or a vinegar flavor.

These have more carbs, but I really like them:

They also come in Pizza, Ranch, and Barbecue. Generally, Healthsmart, Proti-Thin and Proti-Diet have many products that are compatible. I think the ProtiDiet protein crisps may even be unrestricted, but I have never tasted them. I did prefer the taste of IP bars and snacks to other products and purchased them online. Since now you have to go through a clinic, I would not consider them anymore. Their price/value ratio is bad in my opinion.

There are plenty of alternatives in pancakes that are also unrestricted.
  • Chicken Patty
I am on maintenance now but still want to stay low carb. I ordered these chips a few times from amazon. I think the price and taste are good.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are called Simply Protein Chips.
12 packs fro $16 if you sign up for subscribe and save.

15 grams of protein per 33 grams bag
    140 calories per 33 g bag
    2 g of sugar per 33 g bag
    11 g carbs - 1 g fiber = 10 net carbs

I searched ebay and I can't find any Chicken Patty. I need Chicken Patty! ANy other ideas of where to get some boxes? If IP discontinues something, someone else has to still make it? I'm so sad!

I think they're the same company who makes the IP, this is just considered almost 'no name' but it tastes exactly like the IP ones just a nicer price tag.
